Hankooks ventus issue
Hankooks ventus issue
hello everyone hope i can get some help on here my issue is....
I got a set of hankooks few months ago on my stock C2s i know i went the cheap rout and i know you pay for what you get there zr rated how bad can they possibly be one would think.. i notice when i drive at double digit speeds everything seems fine but once i hit the triple digit mark it just doesnt seem right the steering wheele doesnt shake but i feel as if the rim is dancing in the tire...just doesnt seem stable. maybe even like a wobbley feeling.. could it be my balance? but then again it doesnt shake at 20mph 50mph ect. i cant seem to understand why the feeling of the rim dancing around i know for a fact the tires are broken in already put a few thousand miles on them..any help would be great also tirerack said somthing about a ripped line inside the tire or somthing no clue what that means...

I've been trying out the Hankook Ventus as well and so far, I haven't experienced your symptoms. I use my car as a daily driver and for the track. Whenever I've been driving over 100mph the tires have felt the same to me as they did at 99mph and below.
Don't know if that helps but it may not specifically be a tire or tire brand issue. FWIW, I miss the responsiveness of the OEM Michelin's but for a daily tire that I can track with, I'm pretty happy with these. Especially when considering the price point.

What does the vendor want to do about the tires? RIPPED LINE???
Do they want to replace them?
What did they recommend?
When it comes time to replace tires it'll be HANKOOKS for me. I've heard nothing buy good about the brand... Sorry to hear you are having problems.
Let me know about the resolution.. Always curious

On my 3rd set and I have had zero issues. My Cayman is currently running them and the ride is excellent. I am not saying I have ever gone 120mph before but if I had they prolly did fine

My friend has a shop so i got the tires at wholesale price. I dont think tirerack can do anything for me. Maybe they just need a good balance. Its just strange i never had a problem like this even with nitos dunlops on my previous sports cars. Maybe ill have them rebalanced this weekend

I dont doubt you on you get what you pay for but i wasent expecting this issue to happen. I read a lot of reviews on here about these tires and there was nothing bad about them maybe i just ended up with a bad set who knows. To be exact i payed 680 for the set. Where do you seem them for 5bills?
if u type 'hankook' in the search above, u'll be pleasantly surprised..
i also started a thread because i had similar issues. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...x-ps2-v12.html
few things i found out:
- hankook's sidewalls are not as firm as the ps2's or pzero's..hence the lack of n1/n2 designation. i, personally, would be hesitant to go over 130 mph in them for a long duration.
- u'll have to check ur psi.. may have to add some air.
- tires will feel better after its been used for few hundred miles
- some state that they have solved the issue with an alignment, but it can also be cause the tires are broken in..
- we get what we pay for..
BOL
