Carrera S Emblem Placement
Carrera S Emblem Placement
Would someone measure the distance in mm below the bottom on the "Carrera" emblem badge on the back of the car to the bottom of that engine compartment panel. I'm retrofitting the badges and at present it's badgeless.
Thanks!

Ask your dealer for a template.
You can get the measurement from another Porsche owner. Use the blue painter's tape and place it across the width of the rear engine cover. Also note the distance from the bottom. Place marks on the tape. Start of the "C" & end with the "a" & "S". Also measure the location of the bottom of the Carrera. Take the tape off and apply the blue tape to your clean rear engine cover. Press the new badge on and remove your tape.

Mine is an Aerokit equipped car, would the location be identical to a regular C2S?

Good discussion!
A bit off topic, I'm planning to mod my rear emblem to flat black. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove and replace? If so, any tips? I'm doing some searches but coming up empty. May start a new thread, but figured I'd try this first

I removed mine with waxed dental floss. Then it took a long while to remove the residue with adhesive remover, fingernails, whatever. After I polished the area with 3 varying polishes, cleaned area with water, applied the emblems, and then waxed. But thanks to the specs posted above it came out looking "factory". I thought to paint black but in the decided to keep them silver. One's I replaced were Guards Red. I wanted a contrast. If I was to do them in black I was going to have a body shop spray them and clear coat them. I didn't want flat black, or semi-matt black, which can look greenish in direct sun. But I'm happy with silver as it's a good contrast and it goes with the polished PSE exhaust tips. I don't have tinting either (hate tint) so I'm not going for any black out theme.
