Hey folks - I've never had a DME read out done before but I always wondered if it was at all useful to get on a Porsche with PDK and no Sport/Sport Plus modes. How much harm could be done when the computer doesn't allow aggressive shift tactics or gear holding to begin with? What things does it tell you (PDK or MT)?

Any insight into what knowledge can be gained from the DME printout is much appreciated ... Thanks!

When I did my research before buying a PDK, the concensus seemed to be that it will not tell you anything useful regarding overrevving.

 

Yea, that's what I figured, just wanted to hear it from someone else!

 

You can't over rev PDK.

I'm sure you could bounce off the rev limiter if you were stupid enough to rev the car in neutral but with PDK you certainly won't get any mis-shift overrevs.

I wonder if you order a DME from a P dealer and there are no results (or the results are inconclusive) if they will charge you...

 

Why wouldn't they - time is money.

 

I suppose they would ... Not willing to try and find out though lol...
