anything they want to do for free, let them. It was supposedly a problem that caused the car to stall. The newer pump is supposed to be a little higher pressure

anyone know when this recall started? I took mine in for an oil change in February and they didn't do it. I never got anything in the mail about a recall

Its not technically a recall. They are saying that if your car is in for something anyway, they will replace your HPFP for free. Personally, i'd just call up and make an appointment to do it. i had no problems with mine, but had it done any way.

.....just look at BMW HPFP problems in their turbos..probably sourced from the same manufacturer. Main suspect is the ethanol in our fuel since this problem is RARE in europe

HPFP faIL

.............mine caused me a flatbed trip to dealer on a Sunday in August with under 9,000 miles. Not so bad, got new pump installed and was back in action the following day. So far, so good.
