Damage during transport

Hello.

I recently had my car shipped from the dealer in Ohio to a vehicle processing center in Baltimore and the transportation company damaged the front spoiler lip. Here is the back story.

I scheduled the transportation company to deliver the car on the 15th, DEC this is the day my friend was going to be there at the VPC to accept the car. However the driver delivered the car a day early to the VPC when my friend was not there to look over the car, the VPC accepted the car based on my title and dealer docs inside, however they did not do a excellent job looking at the undercarriage. The driver left and my friend found the damage the next day.

I contacted the shipping agency who has always been helpful and spoke of the situation, though I fear this will not get settled in the manor it should. Of course I have not heard back from the company either. The car is on a boat and I got a lesson learned. I did go into this knowing there would be hiccups.

It doesnt look like there is any undercarriage damage. Be sure to double check, otherwise the plastic lip is an expendable piece, imo, and can be replaced in minutes for $200 or so....

That looks like only the spoiler was damaged, so it's a relatively minor repair. It's sad that your car was damaged, and I'm sure they'll take care of you. Since you caught the damage before driving it, they should be willing to work with you.

Good luck!

replace the lip, it's cheap and you can do it yourself with some sockets and a ramp to drive the car on.

Sucks that it happens but it's minor, you will put a lot more scratches on it, I would not replace it, like a member said, take a razor and shave it off.

Is it a GT3 or an aero kit? These cars are really low. A normal car ramp probably gives this result. Was the car brand new? As others said, I'd just buy a new lip, that is nothing tragic.

There is an article on RL about painting these lips with a plastic paint that makes it look as good as new.

Are you sure that those scuffs were not there before already from the previous owner? Those scuffs don't look like they were done just by unloading the vehicle off a truck. I have the same bumper/lip and my lip looked like that after a month of driving and scraping it on various driveways and speed bumps.

Thanks guys, some good advise here, and that's why I joined the site.

You right maybe it was like that from the dealership, who knows. But I am glad that the part is easily repairable, replaceable and is designed easily enough for a novice like me to work on. it is my fault for using the word undercarriage, it did not fit the description.

thanks for the comments everyone.

Easy to replace. Two screws - one on each side, a screw holds he spoiler to the inner fender in the back.
