Street/DE pad choices

It is about time for new pads for my 2006 C2S and I would like to go a little more aggressive than the stock pads.
I would like to be able to do a few track days. I have always wanted a little more initial bite compared to the stock pads. What is available and is best for a mostly street driven car.

Stay with stock pads for the street, get a set of Pagid 29/19 for the track.

When I first got my car, I was also interested in a little more initial bite with the brakes. Ironically, I think that initial bite is much more useful on the streets than at the track. Now that I've spend some time with the car at the track, I can see how a more linear brake feel is more controllable for the type of predictable braking one would normally do at the track. The initial bite is more useful on the street or highway when you may have to unexpectedly stop quickly to avoid something.

Adding to this, I plan on starting DEs this Fall. I also DD my C2S and run between 8-12 autox's per year. Would the RS29 work for this usage model or are they too squeaky for the street? I'm not too concerned with brake dust.

only pads that did not scream like crazy on my car so i could drive with them to the track are EBC yellowstuff. they are cheap but performance is so-so.
RS29 screach like a banshee on my car, i could not drive on them and as lazyness always wins i went to holding them in the box while driving on EBC, just learned to brake less on the track.

you can try PFC01 and PFC 09, some say they do not make too much noise.

Thanks for the feedback. I've read that PFC01 can leave permanent deposits on the wheels if not cleaned shortly after dusting. Does anyone have experience with them?

I almost feel like at this point it may be better to stick with OEM pads.

I use stock pads for the street and Pagid Yellow for the track.
A swap takes about an hour.
The time is worth it in my mind.
The Pagids are much better on the track but they squeal terribly on the street.

+1 on Pagid yellows; street noise varies from acceptable to annoying, but great product

Yellows are too much for dd.
+1 on EBC yellow for dd and a few t/d and A/x if you don't change your own pads.

It sounds like EBC yellow perform better than OEM and is quiet enough on the street. I will give them a try!

Thanks.

ebc yellow are fine for street and slow pace DEs where you brake, like. from 130 down to 80-60mph, essentially going one gear down.
if you run really fast track where you need to slow down 2 gears down after a straight those EBCs will melt. you will smell it. also, they have different 'brake in' compund on the top - DO NOT overheat pads as you would brake in PFC or Pagid pads, just drive normal for 200 or so miles, do not do 'extreme' bedding on EBC yellow going from 100 to 40 several times or you will overheat brakes and then you have no stopping power at all until it cools down.

after that first layer goes away pads work fine and will tolerate multiple extreme stops, just work this upper layer out first.

i run those EBC yellows as street pads and they worked fine even during winter. I run them at DEs too and try to brake less, if i feel that i am overheating them i just borrow a jack and put in front RS29 pads, it does not take long.
