thinking of getting a used 06

whats going on fellas, been into Porsches for a while now, finally about to get in the market probably in the winter time/early spring, (still saving) will probably put down 20-25 gs on a downpayment. i currently drive a 09 jag xf supercharge and an 03 350z, going to get rid of the z for the 911. thinking of either a c4 cabriolet or a c2 cabriolet. i will be doing small mods like rims, exhaust, sound system all of that. what yall think would be a fair price for an 06 with about 35-45k miles on it next winter/spring time?

My nicely optioned '06 Carrera S with 40K on the ODO was around 47K. That was 3 months ago in Los Angeles. Check the usual Cars.com, Autotrader.com, etc for "real world" prices. Seems like you have the time to seek out a great deal. Take your time

Good luck!

Normally there is a historical used car price drop after Labor day although Used cars have been tight lately due to low new car sales in the 2007/9 Model Years. I think your timing will be perfect and I would recommend doing it by the end of February.

I negotiated the price down 3k. I got the warranty afterwards at a LA Porsche dealership. They had the cheapest quote.

listen ive been calling dealerships just to see what they would say on the price work down, making them think im really buying but just seeing what the end price will be and then pulling out. seems like the ones selling the 911s dont want to work on the price, and say the advertised price is final, so what am i supposed to say to that? seems like those ****suckers dont want to work with me.

My experience is that over the phone you won't get squat. If you find one you really like and are serious about -- go to the dealership, test drive the car and then have it PPI'd. That way you build a little bit if a relationship with the dealership/sales person. That's when negotiating worked for me. Once we had a bit of a back and forth. Anyway, I had my car PPI'd and once the car cleared I went back to the dealership and offered 3K less and I had a deal. But that was after a week of "working" it. I doubt you'll get anything right away by just calling. It was same when I bought my aftermarket warranty. I went through the same back and forth in order to get the best deal. Hope this helps.

I bought my 06 C2 last year for 42500 plus 3000 for the porsche extended warr. It had 38000 miles at the time. It is a base model with 19in wheels but I love it.

Two years ago I bought my base (with factory nav, 19 wheels, sports chrono) 06 with 29k on the clock for just under $50k.
