ET50 offset rear on NB with H&R springs?

I drive a 09 c2s w/PASM and recently purchased a set a wheels with 305/30 hankooks on a 19x11 ET50 rear . After mounting the wheels, I quickly realized that I need to lower the car immediately.

I decided on H&R springs because of the lower ride height but after a close inspection, there may be a rubbing issue with the rear.

Does anyone have a NB with WB offset(ET50) in the rear that has a H&R springs installed? Do you have any issues with the rear tire rubbing?

Does H&R springs lower the car to the point where the rear wheels get tucked in when going over bumps? If this is the case then it looks like the 305's in the rear will rub and I may have to go with the Eibach springs.

thx for the reply. by the way, i have the same wheels with same offset. do u have any pictures of your ride since i'm not sure how low you went with kw's. i believe h&r springs lower the car 1.25". this could be a good news.

Some not very good phone pictures attached,

  1. 2 pictures with 19" Matt Graphite OZ wheels with KW V3s (current setup)
  2. Picture with 19" Carrera Sport wheels with Eibach Springs (previous setup)
  3. Picture with 20" Gold OZ Wheels is with Eibach Springs (previous setup)

as you can see the rear sits pretty low with the current setup which is about 1/2 inch lower than my previous setup with Eibach springs.

Also I have had the Carrera Sport which is 11.5" wide with 15mm spacers (effectively ET67 - 15mm = ET52 on 11.5" wide wheels) and Eibach springs in the rear which also does not rub.

Thus you should have no problem with rubbing.

Hey thank you very much for posting all the pictures.

The first two pictures with the kw coils seem like the closest drop to an H&R setup.

By looking at the second picture, It seems like you either have on narrower tires(295?)or have a brand that has the sidewalls slanted inward(ps2?).

I can see how your rear wheels stick out as much as mine but my tires stick out more since the sidewalls are more straight up.

I would like to take some close-up shot of my current wheel/tire setup and post them but I have to wait until I get home. Could you take a look at some photos later and let me know what your thoughts are?

I have Hankook v12's in 305/30/19 too, but the sidewall seems too upright compare to other brands. It was really difficult to capture the right angle but here are some photos I took from earlier today:

Maybe the negative camber created by the drop will allow the tires to slightly tuck in just inside the rolled lip of the wheel arch? If I were to drop the chassis straight down, it really seems like the outer edge of the tire will rub against the rolled lip at the top of the wheel arch.

I know it's hard to tell but what do you think after looking at the pictures? Does it look like it will clear?
