Thank you - it's an '06 lowered with Eibach springs. I actually don't have too many pics

I just received my Getty duck tail, opted for primer option. My intention was to drop off the tail at the shop and get it painted so I can install it myself but the instructions indicate it needs to be fitted and potentially modified/sanded. Did yours need modification?

I called Getty a few times but no answer.

I would definitely have your paint shop take the time to do another blocking, sanding pass and also fit the third brake light in and make sure that all the edges are nice and fitting properly. When you put the third brake light in you just want to make sure that all the corners are nice and tight fitting around it. Also I did not have to have any portion of the ducktail shaved off or modified to have it fit properly. You will want to take your time once the part is painted to fit it and adjust it but that can be done with the screws and also creating larger holes in the brackets that open the deck lid. Also you'll want to adjust your rear brake lights as well. So that they will be flush with the deck lid when that's installed. Just make sure your body shop can be trusted and that they will spend the time doing the prep work so that when it is painted you won't see any waves in the fiberglass but that should have been already done with you ordering the primer from Getty Design. Hope that answers your question and gives you a better idea what to expect. Also ask your body shop if they would paint the inside of the vents black that way when you put the grill on and look inside from the top you will see a black surface that matches the black fan.

I agree with qikqbn. Or you should at least try to install everything and make sure the fitting is good enough, BEFORE you send it for painting. You don't want to risk finding out fitment issue after the paint job is done.

I originally hand wanted to fit first then paint, but decided to send everything to the bodyshop to do all the work to make sure the fitment and paint job is perfect. And it did. This was what Getty specifically recommended as well. Good luck.

looks great!

Qikqbn, Thanks, I adjusted the tail to what you said in your post and thats the lowest I could get it, I wish it was lower tho :/

I tried one body shop but they weren't able to get it lower, if you know a local shop or someone who could do it, please refer the info to me.

Thanks,

Awesome! Well, If I influenced you in anyway, then I am honored
Looks great! Have you decided on what you are going to do for the rear emblems? Do you have Sport Pasm on your car? The ride height looks great and a bit lower then regular Pasm. I am installing Eibach springs pro kit next week which should lower it to the same ride height as the Sport Classic and a lot of GTS models.

Honestly, you did. Apparently we have very similar tastes. When I got my car I was all "man, I really like the Carrera Sport wheels. I wonder if there are any pics out there of them on a meteor gray C4S. Of course an pic of your car comes up. Then I was all. Man, I really like the ducktail look. I wonder if there are any pics online... Your car has been a great fashion model for me lol!

My car has Sport PASM. Good eye. PDK, SPASM, Sport Chrono +, GT2 bucket seats.

As for the deck lid, I think I'm going to try going for the Carrera RS look with the negative space PORSCHE across the bottom and Carrera RS on the Duck, only instead of RS, I want to get "Carrera 4S" in the same script. We'll see.

Post more pics! Would love to see some 3/4 views and profiles with less contrast in the sunlight. Hard to see your SPASM stance with in the dark shadows..

Also, I have always liked the Carrera Sport wheels because they are a modern version of MiniLite wheels that I always loved on early racing Porsches!

Sweet! Thanks! The Sport Pasm adds a really nice and conservative drop in ride height. Hoping to get a very similar look with the Eibach pro kit I hope to install next week!

Thanks again for sharing more pics and helping me visualize a new look this time !
