duck tail finals
Since the Getty ducktail has the 3rd brake light, did you guys disable the the fixed light below the rear window?
I am debating between the misha and getty, think I am leaning towards the getty so any tips on the 3rd brake light will be appreciated!

I got the optional wiring harness from Getty for the 3rd brake light, which I believe is what's needed if I remember correctly. You will need to get the auto up/down for the stock rear lid disabled.
Both the Misha and the Getty require a third brake light harness. The Misha harness disables the warning light for the third brake light that used to be on the motorized decklid. The Getty ducktail requires a harness as well that both eliminates the warning light for the brake light that used to be on the deck lid and also the one that is below the rear window. Either way a harness is required for both of them and you will need to visit the dealer to have the deck lid warning disabled.
The Misha design is pretty ingenious in that it is a very streamlined design; replacing just the wing and not the entire trunk & uses factory vent scoops. I chose the Getty b/c it's true to OEM and the proportions are spot on in terms of curvature, angle, thickness- that's what she said, haha.
The Misha looks thinner, sits closer to horizontal and further back. I guess it looks more like the OEM 991 style ducktail in that respect.
One last detail…if you go with Getty, the vent insert included is the typical mesh/ chicken wire you can get from Home Depot and it's spray painted black & chips easily. I ended up sourcing a nice sheet of mesh from Amazon and it is anodized black and looks the sort of mesh design that would have come from the factory. Here's the difference:

We need to meet up sometime Philly. You can check out my Getty in person and my 997 is also white.

One suggestion I would have for those getting the ducktails... I had all the exposed parts that you see under the mesh grill painted black by the painter. That way when your deck lid is closed and you look down in to the grills that area looks factory black and it blends nicely with the black fan parts...
for the Misha ducktail I had a while ago I used black vinyl wrap on the exposed parts that the factory deck lid use to cover. same effect. when looking down in to the grill everything was blacked out and more subtle...
just a suggestion..

Hey B,
Yes I agree w. your suggestion, that does bother me a bit, but not enuff for me to take it back to the shop to have them spray the inside. Down the road, I'll see if I can mask it and use rattle can textured liner spray or plast-dip to blackout the inside.

I like the mesh you found on amazon. holes are much smaller and the exposed area is not so noticeable. I have the same black mesh you tried first and found at home depot. No problem with chips so far. seems robust enough ;^)

I saw a 997 (probably a C4S) in White with a ducktail in Redmond, WA a couple of weeks ago.. Just checking if the owner is here in the forums. I'd like to know more details about the spoiler
It was the kind that requires only replacing the stock spoiler (not the entire decklid)

Looking really great!! Wow, now that's a lowered suspension, just lower springs or the whole suspension upgraded? Looks great, congrats!

Ducktail is one of those thing that you gotta see it in person. I felt in love with it right after seeing it for the first time. Here's mine:
