PCM and iPhone with iOS 6.1.4 (beware)
Just wanted to share some feedback for those of you who upgraded their iPhones to iOS 6.1.4. The only update is what they refer to as an "updated audio profile for speakerphone". What happens with PCM, at least first with my wife's phone (she upgraded first) and then later my phone when I installed, is that the audio output signal seemed weak and you cant tune up the volume anymore past very low. At first I regretted to even have upgraded to 6.1.4 since the new audio profile no longer seemed to correspond well with PCM (and that's what happened), however, we found a work around. If you feel that volume is low and turning volume to full strength (while the phone/ipod is the audio source) does not help, unplug the phone and turn the volume of the radio to louder BEFORE you plug in your apple device (at least half way up while normal radio is on). Suddenly, it works again and you can control the volume of your iphone normally.
Let me know if anyone else experienced that issue or above process helped. If you haven't yet, don't even "upgrade" to 6.1.4 until they fixed that issue. Or just listen to the sound of the engine - much better anyway

Thanks for giving us the heads-up !!
Is this just for music ?
I have an iPod connected in the car permanently so only use my iPhone for calls .
I haven't noticed any difference since I last updated , but I have no idea what version I am on .

My bluetooth function worked fine / without change. I think the upgrade only applies to audio/music output. Did some research online and seems other audio interfaces in cars are also affected.
I would not have updated had I known this but anyway, if you did update and now experience the same problem, jack up the volume before plugging in your phone and it will solve the issue (although I'm not quite sure the signal /max volume is as strong as it was before). Very annoying.

I'm on a 997.2 MY2009.
I've got an iPhone4S currently on iOS 6.1.3
I only use its bluetooth interface to the phone. For music I use an iPod nano I leave in the car. I've got no intention on upgrading the OS on that device from what I'm hearing.
I'm assuming here that if I upgrade the iPhone, that won't have an impact with the bluetooth functionality, will it?

The thing is, sooner or later another (and this time maybe important) iOS update will be released. We won't be able to hold off on updating our devices forever but hopefully by that time the audio problem is fixed. I don't know why they made something that works worse.
I mean I got it to work after all but not as seamless as before. Now I always have to jack up the radio before connecting the iPhone.
