Dension 500S BT Bluetooth phone issue
Dension 500S BT Bluetooth phone issue
Porsche 997.1 2006 Cabriolet
Dension 500S BT was working perfectly apart from Bluetooth drop outs when using my iPhone 5
Suddenly the Bluetooth phone feature stopped working. (No apparent reason)
Took it to the local and very helpful distributor who gave me a new unit. Had that installed.
Dension 500S BT was working perfectly apart from Bluetooth drop outs.
Suddenly the Bluetooth phone feature stopped working. Again.
Firmware is the latest (version 50)
Have reloaded version 47 and then reflashed to version 50.
Still no joy. Can't see the Dension unit to bond with it. This is on different iPhones (a 4S and a 5).
All the other features seem to work although anything Bluetooth related is gone. (There used to be a feature to turn A2DP music streaming on, that's vanished)
Seems ridiculous that this has happened with two entirely different Dension units?
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response
Dension have asked me to send the BIN files to them (the unit writes some BIN files to the USB key with the ROM file on it after the update). Have done that, will see what they say and report back.
Mine expired after only 2 months of use and actually caught fire!
To be brutally honest, the quality of the Dension unit is questionable and experiences are variable. The Bluetooth strength is poor and dropout is common across different phone (i use Samsung Android).
Now have the Mobridge unit which whilst pricier is brilliant.

Does the reseller offer support? They should be handling this.
BT must be set to 'on' in your menus. Could be the firmware update did not complete properly. Seen that a few times. Once the 0050 is loaded correctly, you may want to un-pair the phone (remove it from the Dension menu), then remove the Dension from your phone, and then re-pair if the 0050 is installed completely.

Dension sent me a new beta firmware file (51A or close to that)
It wrote without any issues. The Dension unit then appeared in the Bluetooth selector section of my iPhone 5S. It pairs OK but then can't see it as an option as an audio source when a phone call comes in.
I've already been through the dealer - they really don't seem interested in helping unfortunately
I'm going backwards and forwards with Dension - at least they are replying and we seem to be moving in the right direction
Thank you all for your replies.
