A couple of months ago I purchased this pristine 2009 997.2 C2 with just 15.2K miles, sports chrono, PDK, black interiors and the 19" wheels that you see. To say that car was/is impeccable is not even fair!
I'm not new to Porsches since back in 1996 I also bought an 11K millage, Arena Red 1992 964 Carrera-4 which also did not have a rear spoiler and for which I adapted one from a 993 Aero Kit.
After that I went over to the "Dark Side" with MB and BMW's until this beauty showed up. I wasn't looking to buy but when I saw it, I couldn't pass up this twice in a lifetime opportunity. The 964 was the first and similarly at the time I also wasn't looking to buy but...
I know that many have mixed feelings about rear spoilers but I've always thought that the 911 rear needs "something". Anyway these are before and after pictures for your enjoyment... and mine! Oh and just in case you're wondering, I didn't paint the calipers. They were that color when I bought it.
The next mods in the pipeline: Sharkwerks Cross Pipes and a Double Gundo Hack!
I was told by two posters from the "other" forum that the wheels are from a 997.2 GT3. I bought the car with them so I really don't have anyway of knowing.
The possibility was also raised that they may even be aftermarket but there's no external means of verification one way or the other. I am however expecting delivery of a full set of Porterfield Ceramic Brake Pads this week. So once the wheels are off, I'll have a chance to inspect the backside for telltale signs of their origin.
I've heeded the advice of those that did like the spoiler, so I'm on the lookout for a front lip to complement the look.
The other items that are in the pipeline and not too distant future are to give the car some "presence" with Sharkwerks Cross Pipes and a Double GUNDO hack.
