Rear driver window stuck down, any way to lift?
My rear driver window is stuck in the down position. I hear some motor action when I press the switch but it won’t go up. I assume I need to rep each regulator and maybe motor. Until I can get this to repair shop, is there a way to manually lift the window? I don’t want to leave it open or cover with plastic ghetto style.
Also, anyone know of a repair service by the jersey shore that would come to me to fix?

I'd call the closest Porsche dealer and talk to the service manager. Tell him what's going on and inform him you'll need a loaner while they repair yours. You'll likely get to drive a Macan.

On my third 997 and didn't even know the rear window could be opened and closed. Probably because nobody ever rode in the back of my cars. To your point, If you don't want to spend the money to have the dealer or an indy fix it, all I can think is to start to take things apart back there where you can access the mechanism and hopefully find a way to close the window manually. With any luck you'll also find out why the motor isn't retracting the window. By your account it sounds like the motor is working but not doing what it's supposed to do.

Stupid me. Of course that's what it is. Makes perfect sense. Never had or drove a 997 cab so that's my lame excuse.
To the OP: there is a small switch below the side view mirror adjustment
this switch moves for and aft. Fore: front windows, aft: rear glass. Try that and
your problem should be solved...You can download a manual from just about every
Porsche forum, even this one.
