ok... well if it doesnt add the volume of combustible air, then why would you need to add fuel to maintain proper stoich ratios?? THe point is that its ADDING volume of combustible air for compression. THats FI to me....how about we agree to disagree? It sure sounds to me like youre talking about shooting NOS into the intercooler......

You add fuel because you're adding OXYGEN but you're not increasing the PRESSURE of the air charge. FI increases the pressure of the air charge above ambient. NO2 increases the amount of oxygen in the air charge but does not significantly increase the pressure. Similar end result, but different technology entirely.

Obvious;ly you have a hard time reading also.

oxygen is a combustible gas, in case you didnt know.

ITs pointless for me to continue this discussion with you guys because youre so convinced otherwise. ITs fine... People that buy the 997S as their only Porsche are the guys that couldnt pony up the dough for a real turbo car. I know you should find some security in knowing you paid nearly double for a car that performs worse than an m3 and is less practical. Generally when people make the jump from an m3 to a p-car its to a turbo not to a 997S....
Dude, I gotta tell you, I love m3s, and am looking into buying one right now, but an M3 short of forced induction cannot beat a stock 997s. I think even a stock e46 m3 would have trouble beating me in my stock c4 cab.
As for not coughing up the dough for a turbo and instead getting a 997s that is ridiculous. a 997s outperforms a stock m3 anyday in any way. Maybe its more practical but who cares. Some people dont need a FI car and thereofore opt not for the turbo. The 997s is one mean car thats all I have to say.

no doubt that the 997S is fast.. i never said that it wasnt... I also never said that a stock m3 could beat a 997S. A stock 997S outperforms a more-practical stock m3, thats for sure..... but for nearly double the price! Regardless of what you "think," a fully modded N/A m3 will beat a stock 997S.

You are very abrasive and defensive, and somewhat insulting to someone who was merely trying to help clarify this exhausted discussion.

"increase combustible air volume and fuel volume for more power."

This is inaccurate. You're not increasing AIR VOLUME. You're increasing OXYGEN CONCENTRATION. Air volume ramians the same with nitrous.

Just to clarify, I dont have a 997s, I have a 996 C4 cabrio. The thing is, from a dead stop or a roll I find it hard to believe that an M3 with, CAI, fully exhaust, cams, pullies, throttle body will pull a 997s. The very fastest I have seen an m3 trap without FI is around 110. I have seen a bone stock 997s trap at 115. That 5 mph difference is the reason I dont thing an M3 with those mods or not can beat a 997s both being driven by comprably skilled drivers.

05997s: What didnt you like about the gruppe m ti exhaust. I am looking into getting an m3 and was doing some research on what exhausts would be good for it and I happened to like that one and found a great price for it. What were your impressions (i.e. power, tq, sound, quality etc). Any info would help, thanks!

It was very very loud. It was cool in that it was all Ti and that it was very light, but I couldn't live with the noise. I wound up with a magna flow cat back that sounded awesome and I got for free (traded for my stock pipe) but the fitment wasn't the best.
