So it was a full-duplex. Does your wife ever complain about the sound quality or any echoing while you're on the phone?

Nav-Tv iPod Adapter

Great info on the bluetooth adapter.

On the iPod adapter - I have one from Nav Tav in my 997 C2S and there are two main issues:

1. it often does nto recognize the ipod and I have to either turn off the car and restart a couple of times or do that with also resetting the ipod - have you had this issue at all?
2. You cannot play the songs in random mode so you constantly have to scroll through pages to get to where you left off so you dont hear the same song

Other than that when it is working through the BOSE soundsystem it is spectacular.

any thoughts on the two points above.

mark

1.)replace the unit, call NavTV
2.) just throw everything in a playlists --or-- select manual control under the aux section (button 6) and then hit random on the iPod

How does Tooki connect to the MOST ring? Does it replace an existing phone module if there is one or will there be two phone modules?

I have the original phone module with a passive handset and I'm wondering if the passive handset will work with Tooki or if it is hardwired into the (possibly bypassed) original phone module?

Leaper,

I had the phone module in mine but the installer removed it when they put the Tooki unit in. I'm not sure if it'd work with your handset or not. I definitely think that it's worth upgrading to even if you end up having to remove the handset altogether. It's not possible to use both phone modules in conjunction with each other.

OK, thanks!

I recon your quite happy with the Tooki kit. How much did you pay for it + installation? What kind of phones have you tried it with? I have a SonyEricsson P990 and P1 and really need SMS to work with Tooki.

the 990 should, i have no info on the P1. However SMS from the vehicle is not going to be fun... look at the way you have to enter the nav destination, then think about texting while you are driving. I see it done for $999 installed at 3 places. 1 of 3 I know you will get every penny out of the install, the other 2 i have no clue about

I bought it for $750 (Tooki) + $180 (installation). No idea if it'd work with these phones but I'm pretty sure that it will. I tried SMS but it just seemed to "hang" at the "sending SMS" screen for a while. I used it with my Blackberry Curve via AT&T. I'd much rather type a SMS from the phone itself since it's much faster to do it that way.

So how do you like it, Atomic? Are the features and sound quality worth the money and switch? Please give us a review of the TOOKI. Thanks,

$180 for the installation sounds reasonable. Still, how hard do you think it would be to do the installation yourself? If it isn’t more complex than the IPod installation, I'd rather do it myself (I don't like other people messing with my car, they always seem to leave a new scratch somewhere).

I've done a couple of Parrot BT installations in a Volvo, a BMW Z3 and a Jaguar XJR (all non-MOST), and the hardest part has always been the microphone wiring...

Where do you have the Tooki unit placed and where do you have the microphone? The neatest thing, I think, would be to use the original microphones behind the steering wheel, but I guess the Tooki doesn't integrate that well? Or is the Tooki microphone better than the Porsche one?

I love it! I really should have gotten THIS instead of ordering the phone module from the factory. You can't even tell that they're different from one another. The only indication is that it says "Tooki searching" whenever you first get in the car but then the carrier shows up after it connects automatically. The SMS doesn't really work but I admit I haven't really tried it much. It's really a moot point for me because it really does take forever to type out a message. I suspect that it's carrier based just as JBONDOx mentioned.

I couldn't tell you guys where they installed the Tooki unit because I wasn't there when they did the installation. I can however tell you that the factory microphone isn't very good compared to the noise-cancelling mike that comes with the Tooki. I'll have to take a picture of where they put mine. They experimented with finding the best location which turned out to be up above by the dome light.

If you guys haven't gotten one yet, what are you waiting for!
