thats hard to believe ill have to pick that up, motortrends was different z06 took it between that and the viper and i believe it was road and track that showed results of the z06 being superior

Now that's just an inane statement. I'm sure the 08 Viper is a beast an all, but a 997 GT2 will give it a royal *** spanking on the track.

Those wheels are f'ing hideous. Not a big fan of the hood either. Color is pretty damn cool.

 

Always loved the viper, but I wish they did something better with the body style.

 

This is not an insult to anyone who has a Viper, I have had two Vipers but this is my true opinion on the car and if you like it its your opinion but I am of the opinion that the Dodge Viper is absolutely without a doubt the biggest piece of junk I have ever wasted money on! It is actually beyond crap, it is on a new scale of crap.

I have had two Dodge Vipers, a 2006 SRT-10 Coupe and a 2000 Viper GTS. I threw money at both of them. I gave the Viper a second chance because I loved the muscle car look but JEEEEZUS christ the Viper is the biggest piece I have ever owned in a sports car. My Mercedes SLK55 is a better sports car than the SRT Viper.

Dont get me wrong, the looks of the Viper in Coupe form from the GTS to the SRT are incredible and the comp series is one of the most beutiful machines I have ever seen but they are the most horrid handling pieces of crap ever. I am talk from experience driving alot of high end sports cars (I currently have nine vehicles in my garages), I have personally owened a Ford GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 360 Modena, BMW M3's, Jaguars S type R, Mercedes SLK 55, down to modded Factory Five Cobra, and Classic and new Mustangs. I have driven the spit out of all of the cars I listed and a ton more, from big block to small block and at the bottom of the list for handling were my Vipers. Power they do have but it feels like your driving a train.

I sold my 2006 one with less than 1k miles even though I bought it new cause it was such a piece.

Now I cant say whether or not the 2008 Viper is as bad as my last two but If they didnt do a complete makover then they just added 100-HP to a very quick turd. Just my 2 cents but I really really hope the new Viper is an improvement because I have work trucks that handle better and feel more linear than the Viper.

I'm afraid I have to agree as well. I love big displacement torquey motors. I love the Z06. I *should* love the Viper. I've driven 2 of them and absolutely hate them. I don't give them a second glance when they drive by and if one were offered to me for free but I had to drive it and couldn't sell it, I seriously would not take. Sorry Chrysler, adding more hp just doesn't cut it for me.

 

I dont hear you viper lovers cracking on people who agree with the point I have been making for the past 6 pages of posts. Like all american cars they are good to a certain extent. Viper great engine becuase it was from Lambo the car is horrible, ZO6 awesome quality control out the window, and so on and so forth... mayb your ripping me b/c im only 21 but i have beaten this and other cars on and off the track until their tires are about to fall off pushing them to the limit. and once again i still fell the viper does not live up to the legend it is supposed to portray.

are you stupid simple or slow? i did say all american cars suck although i like my pt cruiser my audi has perfect quality and so does my lexus so you can leave my lil project car out of it becuase i already stated my pt cruiser is a heap of garbage and in the bunch with the rest of american cars that suck. I just so happen to like my pt cruiser for its practical and fun elements. which is the only thing that chrysler did right but dropped the ball on everything else much like every other car the US builds.... and i guess u didnt know i work there so some of those videos i probably edited, or did photography or even took part... so im not basing my opinions on hear say and pictures i basing my opinions because im in the field and get to do what most of you cant at my "young, stupid, not knowing anything about so called exclusive stuff" age! oh and if its the right vid ill watch it right now they didnt like it either!

This is a classic comment on the Viper:
"at lower rpm, the exhaust sounds like a tuba having sex with a vacuum cleaner." At least it doesn't sound like a UPS truck anymore, right? C&D still rated the '07 Z06 above the '08 Viper not because of speed but ease of daily driving. If someone is looking for all out speed and squeezing that last 0.2 sec from 0-60 or bragging rights... the Viper is the car to get. If you're looking for something with similar performance but easier to live with, there are several other options out there.
