I have always wished that we would have open lines of communication between members, sponsors, moderators and admins...sort of family style because I consider all of you family....in the last couple of days there has arisen a conflict between two board sponsors that is being sold on some other boards as a "friendly competition"'.....nothing could be farther from the truth....since a couple of members and one sponsor have attempted to post about this competition and I have removed those posts I figure I owe all of you an explanation....

If this was truly a friendly competition with the challenge put forth only in the spirit of competition I would be right at the front saying "yeah, go for it and good luck to you both"....unfortunately, I have information that the challenge was issued out of anger over an incident that should not have taken place....since party one called out party two on a public forum they had no choice but to accept the challenge.

Now, the question is....should a challenge thread be permitted on 6 speed when we know that this challenge was made out of anger and does not represent the true spirit of competition? I know what my opinion is and I very much want to hear yours. Thanks, chuck

ps...I know that Champion would like to see the competition promoted here...I will be talking with Mike at TPC in the morning to see if they feel the same way.

 

Over the past several months, or years, we've noticed that there's been a large amount of credibility given to dyno graphs, 60-130 VBox performance figures, and too many other intangible measures of performance. Recently there's also been several BOLD statements made about our credibility as engineers and technicians here at Champion Motorsport, specifically surrounding our unparalleled racing history.

So here it is, a challenge to TPC Racing. Let's put the graphs and intangible data aside and meet face to face (or car to car in this case) and put all the mudslinging to an end. Our Champion Motorsport performance-equipped 997.1 Turbo vs. your TPC Racing 997.1 Turbo package. VTG vs. VTG, head to head on a dyno and then on the drag strip. Here in Florida or in Maryland....your choice.

So come on guys...let's get some friendly competition going. Hopefully we can finally put all the myths and rumors to rest and both move on designing and producing parts for the entire community to enjoy.

They should let Battle of the Supercars have their cars for the day. No need for that nonsense here, especially since you are privy to inside information on the subject and have used your best judgement.

 

Not a bad idea.

 

Doesn't make any sense to go through all the trouble of getting the cars together only to drag race. It shouldnt be about who can build a quicker drag car. That could just come down to transmission, shifting, or tires. At least run 60-130 and do a road course time trial.

 

Who doesn't want to see this?

I think 1/4 mile, 60-130, slalom, road course, and see who wins.

none of this - 0-100, 100-0, 1/4, 1 mile drag race - it's all the same stuff, different distance.

Turn these damn cars. Let's see what they can do!

We just got off the phone with TPC and our professional challenge has been ACCEPTED. The details will be addressed by both parties early next week. First and foremost we have to select a venue that is spectator friendly as well as accommodating for our tests.

TPC 775 VTG Turbo kit?
