New purchase...no haters..GT-R in garage
Just bought a lightly used (3k miles) '10 GT-R to see what the fuss was all about. Have not had 20 miles in the seat yet but will report further once I get the fluids changed and see what she feels like.
Definitely post up your impressions after you drive it a while. I'm curious.
I know a lot of guys who have them and LOVE them.
The styling has never done it for me...but of late it's growing on me a little.

Congrats on the GTR. I bought one brand new last year and had it for less than a month. It definitely lived up to the hypes but I couldnt stand the random cabin noises, noisy brakes and the car intervenes with my driving ability. Enjoy it in good health.
I'm definitely curious for your feeback as well. I've heard so many conflicting stories. I appreciate the performance of the car, but for me it's too big/bulky looking. I'm more comfortable with smaller cars. My M3 is already too big for me.

.All jokes aside they are a real performer no question but jeez the looks are an acquired taste to most. Mind you i probably shouldn't laugh with our car prices here in Aus. It may have to be my next car if 991tt goes up and things go pear shaped down here....gulp....touch wood.
Got a few more miles on the car tonight. It is a 3500 mile car so fairly fresh. As algaehater mentioned, tramlining is pretty significant. I am reading NAGTROC entries to see if tire pressure or other tweeks can help some. My wife agrees with some of you that the looks are "unique"...but she is anxious to drive it and compare (her insight will be compelling.."I like the bigger shift thingies", etc. is typical). I hated the shape a couple years ago but it has grown on me and doesn't look near as bulky to me anymore. It is a bucket list car for me..and they are so cheap relative to anything close performance-wise, I just didn't feel like I could pass up the chance to piddle with one for a while. The color helps at least to my eye as to the size of the car...mine is the dark charcoal color..that and the darker wheels seem to minimize the bulk and it sure does not feel large at all when being driven. For that matter, it feels nothing like what it actually weighs. It felt almost tossable to me..like an old M3 I had. With the little time I have had in it and only on the street where I am totally civil, handling is predictably neutral due to the nice f/r balance of the car's build. I must say it really promotes confidence because it just PLANTS and gives a very secure feeling at all times, even under hard throttle..it seems to thrive even more when pushed. The engine is a winner. Spool up is quick, lag almost non-existent and pull is very, very linear..hate to say but better than at least my 997TT tip (before anyone screams I only have mine to compare it to..trying to be objective). It has a shockingly nice stock exhaust tone (especially for FI) and I won't be in as much a hurry to upgrade that as I was for my TT. Compared to my tip, the tranny is superb and lightning quick but NOISY (sitting at a light with tunes down you can hear it grinding...normal according to NAGTROC comments). I am sure the PDK is a much better comparison. The car is gadgety compared to my spartan TT (my 20 yr old son loves that part) but I do appreciate being able to monitor, among other things, tranny fluid temp (which can be a problem according to the boards with the GT-R when driven hard..and Nissan requires new tranny fluid very often if you drive it hard (every 1800 miles..at $900 a pop)). I would give a definite edge in feel to my PCCBs (much better modulation and seat of the pants haul down)..but they are effective on the GT-R (test numbers are stout), especially for a heavier car. Both sets are loud..the Brembos have a mild screech at low speed stops just like my ceramics do if cold. That is about it for now.
