Ball Park HP on Tune + Exhaust 997.1TT

I just purchased an EP1 from Stef and have completed a Softronic tune on 91 octane pump gas. I generally run Ultra 94 but the variability here in Alberta I stuck with the 91. Anyways - rough numbers - what should I expect for HP and Torque with a Softronic and EP1?

Cheers,
Spatia

Don't worry about numbers on paper as they don't play an important role. I haven't bothered dynoing my car at all. Also the numbers depend on the type of dyno too. I would say you'd probably be somewhere near 550hp. Get a P-box and measure 60-130mph or 100-200km/h taking into account temperature and see how you compare with other cars. By the way you chose the best exhaust available! I love EP exhausts for their power gains AND SOUND. Also I suggest you install a BMC or any other decent drop in filter...! Enjoy your car!

Would that be at the crank or at the wheels? I know much is speculation however I want to know for general knowledge.

That's rear wheel hp correct? Meaning the car is running in RWD mode?

Also, how many shifts did you do when you did the 7.3 60-130?

Also take into consideration about clutch slippage! I just have the tune and my clutch slips a bit.

Yes that is rear wheel, I pulled the drive shaft for the dyno runs. The car is AWD and full weight 1 shift was used in the 60-130 pull.

Whats the deal with the advertised 615hp on the Softronic site. Although I only have a 91 octane tune - I run Ultra 94. The flash + EP1 only gets me to ~550hp at the crank. What am I missing here? Other than 65hp...

Is it me or is the Softronic site completely misleading??? Maybe I missed the part where it referred to the 3.8L DFI car from this site: http://www.softronictuning.com/catal...duct_info.html

Can someone please clarify.

Was it a 3-4 shift or 4-5 shift? What's the rev limiter set at? GMG exhaust is catless? That's a blazing fast for just a tune and exhaust. Any 100-200kph times?

It seems that these claims refer to mk1 models indeed. I wouldn't expect more than 550hp at the crank though with 91 octane fuel. Personally, I chose APR tune along with a BMC and EP1. The car is really fast for a stock VTG car. With 100 octane pump gas it shouldn't be any less than 600+ at the crank. The tune is really reliable and I haven't been having any problems at all. Here in Greece the temperature's 110 degrees or 43 degrees C for quite a long period now and the car is running perfect. Buy yourself a P-box or borrow one to measure 60-130mph. This is a perfect test to see how the car compares to other cars with a tune and exhaust.

IIRC the increase in torque causes pressure plate to slip, I believe you can change out just the pressure plate and keep the stock clutch.
