Comment on EP1sound
Never could hear my EP1 exhaust (997.1) except from inside cabin and it always sounded a bit 6ish. Racing a Shelby tonite who had his windows down said as my turbo accelerated from him (+60) sounded tremendous and more like a powerful V-8 than any 6. I mean he couldn't brag enough about it. Said he couldn't believe the sound under acceleration from how it sounded at low speeds driving and parking at weekly car meets.
That's a clear thumbs up for Stef and his efforts to make such a great exhaust.
And too have +25K miles on EP1 with no hint of problems.

Hi john, you're description and comments on how others comment on the sound of the EP1 is much the same as i get all the time. The other night on the way home i had a motor bike rider pull up alongside at a set of lights and motioned for me to wind my window down. After doing so his first words and motions were a double thumbs up followed by "mate christ that thing sounds awesome!! Previously i had given it a bit of a foot full blasting around some slow pokes who were trying to shut the gate on me Lol....he had been trailing me playing a bit of cat and mouse.
I get this type of praise heaped on the EP system all the time. The service techs at Porsche all rave everytime i drive in and say its the best sounding system theyve heard period, and these guys work on a lot of cars and have heard a lot of systems. A few of the techs say its the BEST they've ever come across period. Even the dealer principle said to me (he's heard the car before obviously when its been in service) the other day when i started it up, commented and said "now that sounds truly glorious...it really does" and how if only all turbo Porsches sounded like that. Now let me tell you this guy is a real Porsche nut and has done all the artic drives and so forth, been in the game all his life around Porsches. Now this guy would know. So the point i'm making here fellas is when i hear someone say on the forums they've had negative comments such as it's the worst sounding system or it's not that great i think to myself sheesh boy you must have really pissed someone off buddy. And, for an ep user to comment badly from his own EP experience...well you've really got to question the motive for saying that. i.e. and take it with a very big grain of salt...and i mean like really big.

I just install my EP1 in my 997TT and I already got a lot of complements!!
I had 3 other exhausts and I never had anyone saying anything about the sound of my car...
By the way EP is the only exhaust that I'm able to hear the Turbos going on and on!!! It's just Amazing!

When i drive in my parking lot all the alarms go on... and that didn't happen with the Techart, fabspeed or 911tune CATLESS.... i hear tubi (the new version catless) and it was loud but never like EP... EP is enjoyable, loud and 0 drone
Leo, are u sure you don't have an ep2, from your description yours is way louder than mine. Something's amiss if you're describing an ep1 as loud (not wot).
Either way, good luck

I'm not 100% sure because I don't know the difference btw EP1 & EP2 but I bought it from one of the members of this forum and he sold it to me as a EP1
If you used your stock tips then you have an EP1. EP2 has larger diameter outlet and requires a modified tip.
EP1 for sure! And it is loud and the noise it just like music for my ears...
I think it's loud... not really loud that can be annoying....

I think the definition of "loud" is being interpreted and/or articulated by some as being of a volume that is completely obnoxious to 99% of the driving population (with exception to the individual behind the wheel).
Every solitary person to date who has commented on my EP1 have all said it is certainly more than loud enough. They also all have said any louder and most would be thinking bad thoughts of the driver. There are systems that have this volume and thats called loud...or should i correctly say loud enough for 99%. Systems that are much louder are imho obnoxious and not received very well by general population.
Now, where a system has an unatural sound for the car like a sick tractor (or caterpiller) and is unable to be driven in 6th gear or under 3000rpms then really what good is it? In the real world, a car with an AM system that has to be driven over 3000rpms or, left hovering around in a gear just to keep the engine pegged above 3000 rpms to stop the occupants eardrums hurting is simply unsustainable for the greater majority of owners. Purchasers need to be aware of this situation before they part with their hard earned, and NOT afterward when it is too late and to give advice to the contary (which i have seen written up as self indulgent personal fantasy threads) is very bad form indeed. Buyers need to know the truth and not get trapped in someone elses make believe fantasy world.
As you have found, with the Europipe EP1 you don't have any of these dreadful issues to contend with so both driver and passengers can just enjoy the car with an awsome sound, recieve additinal power you can feel without adding a tune (and get good comments ALL the time....grumpy nannas or persons with axe to grind excepted). This is how all systems should be on a car such as a Porsche 997tt.

Just Imagine what the germans would say if they heard someone masterbating about having to drive over 3000rpms all the time and recommending to unsuspecting buyers this is how the car has to be driven....and avoiding 6th and so forth. Totally Ridiculous! The Germans would laugh their asses off at the very thought of it.
