Painted my Exhaust Tips today

Thanks to Redwine702 for the pointers - He has the white TT with black exhaust tips.

Pretty Simple DIY project

1. Remove tips
2. Washed with Simple Green cleaner and sun dried (Organic tips)
3. Chrome was roughed up with 200 grit sandpaper followed by 1200 grit
4. Painted with satin black (looks flat to me) high temp exhaust paint from Eastwood automotive
5. Sun dried for 2 hours (Organic tips)
6. Re installed.

Love the way they look

Wow that actually makes the stock tip look good. That makes me consider an EP2 instead of an EP1.

You can get black ceramic coated tips for the EP2 from Stef.

I used 2 coats. First coat was dry to touch in about 45 minutes. Second coat took about 1 more hour. Slapped em back on. Have been driving all day and they look perfect. To be honest, they looked fine after one coat.

Eastwood makes great high temperature paints specifically for headers and exhaust systems.

looks good, (but) it won't last. The tips becomes extremely hot.
I think, only (matt) black chromium coating will work.

I not, pls keep me posted.
