GIAC+bolt-on 997.2 Turbo S takes on 1,000 HP Ford GT
Due to it's insane amount of traction coupled with seamless shifting of the PDK trans, we all know that a 997.2 Turbo S PDK can hang with just about anything from a dig in a short 1/4 mile race. But what happens when the Porsche is taken out of it's element and put against a 1,000 HP Ford GT in a half mile roll race? Let's find out:
GT didn't miss a shift but you can see the car fall back just slightly when he had to shift. PDK is just insane.
He's running an e85 fuel system. I'm running Fuse116 unleaded race gas on my race gas map.
I guess the extra weight of the passenger affected him quite a bit and maybe he was a little heat soaked.
I didn't mean to take away from your performance. I'm actually quite happy about it as my mods mostly mirror yours.
But as you said in your video, on paper it shouldn't be close. The shifts do make a difference as well as you stated.
Well done!

As you can see at the very end of the race, the GT starts pulling pretty hard...but that's only after reaching 150 mph. I bet from a standing start, I could beat this car in the half mile. But in a standing start full mile race, I would lose for sure.

Did you run this car at Shift Sector? I can't remember if you did.
Hope yours is ready for the next one! I haven't heard of a date yet for Shift Sector but the NoFlyZone Airstrip event in Bakersfield is set for October 25th!

If it is the same Ford GT I recall it put down high 6XX or low 7XX on a happy dynojet; where an A28 car put down 855 to the tires ..but maybe a different car
do you have #s from the owner ?

Same car, but that was a long time ago when the GT had a much smaller blower and pump fuel. Since that time, the GT has been through extensive upgrades including the whipple blower and e85 fuel system conversion.
I'm calling this BS. I own both cars and I'm sorry a 700-750 HP car cannot hang with a 1000HP car from a rolling start especially a FGT with it's huge aero advantage in a half mile. There would be over 300 WHP difference here (remember a FGT has about 10% drivetrain loss versus over 25% in a TT). My 680 WHP Ford GT embarrasses my 700 crank HP 911 TT except from a standing start. From a standing start the 911 is faster to 60 MPH with much better traction then aerodynamics and pure HP take over very quickly. The FGT must not have been tuned well, driven well, or running well. I will admit mine is manual transmission so the PDK is faster, but come on.
Sorry numbers don't add up here. Fun video and really close race.

I hear your points, but Longboarder has been a straight shooter on this forum since he's been here.
He himself expected to it to go well in favor of the FGT, but BS is a strong statement.
