Race gas for GIAC stage 1 997.2 turbo s

Hi guys)

I have 997.2 turbo s cabrio, tomorrow I want install IPD plenum and flash by GIAC, but I have question, when you turn on race gas map, what fuel are you fill?

I can not find some information about this in GIAC web.

And here, in Russia i can buy race gas only VP fuel products.

If you can, recommend please some gas from VP.

Good day,
You should get MS109 (RON) from VP and my opinion is you should also get a more free flowing exhaust for much improved results!

Also remember this....the NAME of the VP fuel is NOT always the same as the octane.

For example, VP MS109 is actually 105 octane. MS103 is actually 100 octane.

So basically, when you switch to the "race" tune from GIAC, you need to make sure that you have at least 100 octane gas in the tank completely. In this case, you can use either VP MS109 or MS103.

Yes only MS 109

I bought some VP 100 stuff to add to some E85 to make 100 octane and did not like the response.... someone then told me the VP100 is not really 100 even though it says (R+M)/2 = 100 on can.

I think MS 109 will give you 105 octane safely

A few
The car is finally running really well, I couldn't be happier.
New exhaust should be here in a ~week plus some cool weather is coming. I'm looking forward to seeing new results

Good question OP. When I had the tune + plenum I ran the race gas mode with a mix of VP 100 and pump gas. Strangely, the car was running slower than when I was on the pump gas mode. As I found out later VP 100 is only 97 motor octane. Tom is right about the octane numbers which is something that came to me as a surprise. Strange that VP would label the gas this way but now as I understand, they nomenclature is based on Motor octane + Research octane / 2. The race file needs 100 motor octane.

GIAC/Champion contemplated that users like me might try using the race map with less than 100 motor octane and so there are actually a number of "maps" within each mode. And when in race mode, if the octane is not sufficient, a lower map will be selected automatically, which may be less powerful than the pump mode to protect the car.

Since then I discovered Fuse 116 which is actually 108 motor octane (124 research/108 motor) that vendor Emmanuelle Design sells in SoCal and that really wakes up the car. I used that fuel at the last two airstrip races and my car ran very strong.

For the most power, cat-less will be the best choice.
