Hey guys....I would like to install a short shifter in my 08 911tt.

Oem only. My question....is the short shift kit the same as the gt2 shifter? If not which one do people prefer? Is one inferior to the other?

I have the factory short shifter on my 997.1 TT and I really like it.

I think the GT3 shifter has the same throw, but it adds metal bushings and it is considered to be a more robust design.

I have the OEM short shifter, its kind of harder to get first when the car is cold.

Check out Numerics, I read they are awesome.

Get the PMNA Cup shifter. OEM race proven bullet proof shifter. It is basically a more rugged version of the GT3 shifter with more metal in critical areas. Rifle bolt action...

Would you happen to have a part number for me to give to the dealer?

Unless your dealer has a PMNA account they won't find it in PET as it is a Cup part number. You can go through outfits like GMG or TRG to get Cup parts. PM me and I can get you a PMNA contact if you need.

If size does matter.... You should get a BBC shifter.

Thanks for your help hound. Now with gift giving being done...tie to spend some money on me.

Just to triple check this will fit my 2008TT. I am just asking because I see the part number is a 996 part.

I'm not a huge fan of the aftermarket stuff. I'm sure the numerical is fine but I always try to go with factory race parts whenever possible. That's just me though.

Numeric or CAE Shifters -- Both are significantly higher quality and more "race" focused parts

Numeric

CAE

Would those even fit under the center console? I'm looking for a shifter for my daily driver, not a full blown track car to be clear.
