997.2 Turbo Kline exhaust going out to a customer in Australia

Wanted to share some pics of this beautiful 2.75" setup with carbon fibre tips going out to Ian in Australia for his 997.2 Turbo. Car is running a PTF custom tune via the Cobb AP and will soon be ready to turn things up a notch

Beautiful exhaust for sure! What would be the limit whp/wtrq wise for this type of setup?

2.75" decat piping will work really well for pretty much anything you can throw at this exhaust without building the motor and going larger turbos. For example, we're running the same diameter piping on our shop car making ~900whp (Dynojet) currently.

I still don't understand why P car exhausts all love to put this balance thing on (H / X pipe). There is no other platform that I know of that makes more power when airflow is disturbed by having two banks's airflow hit each other, versus when each banks exhaust runs straight through.

Hi! Glad you ask, we just wrote an explanation with a nice GIF that shows why we went this route.

Hmmm, it's a cool GIF I'll tell you that. I just have never seen anything like this perform better in the real world. Let's just look at the race cars. Exhaust exits the exhaust manifold and they make a straight pipe to exit right on the side of fender OR they make a pipe that runs straight out the hood. This makes the most power with the fastest times on a turbocharged car. Why would a Porsche be any different?

Introducing any turbulence through an X/H pipe or any restriction of any kind on a turbocharged car makes less power.

I'm sure your exhaust performs GREAT. I actually love your exhaust and would like to buy one. I'm just saying on a turbocharged car on any platform, I just don't see how introducing an X or H where air meets each other across the banks would make more power. It introduces turbulence and/or restrictions.

Ok, I reply here also

Glad you like what we do Changster! What we are trying to show over here is that running a well designed X pipe, as in a kline X pipe, will perform as well as an unbalanced exhaust.

Drag cars with no Db or comfort restriction, and race cars with no inclination toward tonal quality fall into a different category. Beside optimum performance we want our street exhausts to sound perfect and to be very comfortable at long drives and cruising speeds.

Drop me a PM whenever you want more info about our systems. I guarantee you will absolutely love it
