I have a few issues with the carbon fiber in my car and I'm wondering if anyone has ever fought the good fight and won with the dealer.

I did not buy my car locally, or new. It is a 2008 with about a month and a half of CPO warranty left. The local dealer says that the carbon fiber trim pieces that are lifting and cracking are not covered under the warranty.

Just curious to know what others have experienced.

I can see on the report where the center console (carbon) and a-pillar (leather) trim has been replaced under warranty. I can't understand why it wouldn't be covered under the CPO warranty...

 

If its a CPO Porsche warranty, then I would think you would not have any problems, especially if the pieces are bad/de-laminating

 

I called the dealer and was told that Porsche would not replace the pieces. I'm a bit confused since Porsche has replaces trim pieces on this car in the past.

 

Send them a registered letter with return receipt so that you can prove that you brought this up to their attention prior to the warranty running out. If the warranty runs out and you don't have a verifiable paperwork that they knew about it, you'd be far less likely to get it covered.

 

I called Porsche North America and was told that trim pieces are not covered under the CPO warranty.
I told them that my 2002 Chevy Suburban sits out in the sun all day every day and doesn't have the interior pieces failing, how can you justify the outrageous prices you charge for inferior trim pieces?
Hard to believe they don't stand behind their products when they are clearly failing and the car is still under warranty.

 

I wonder if they changed policy, I personally know 2 people who had trim pieces replaced under warranty. This was back in the 996 variant, and several years ago.
