Oil filter (lube seal with clean engine oil) = 15-18Nm
Engine sump drain plugs (lube seal) = 20-26Nm
Oil tank drain plug (lube washer) = 26-30Nm
If the filter comes off with oil adapter, can remove easy in hand with hex drive on electric 3/8 impact, clean/dry threads, apply high pressure thread loctite and tighten 26-34Nm.

Thanks, I mean what's the actual brand and model of your wrench? I'd like to buy a good one.

And also, how do you physically use a torque wrench on the oil filter when there's no place to attach a socket? Is there a specific adapter?

I use a 3/8 Snap-On Flex-Head TechAngle.

Dealer has a tool adapter with 3/8 drive supplied from Aston. Slap the tool adapter directly to torque wrench and tighten V8V filter to spec.

You don't need to buy a tool from dealer, filter measures 76mm x 12 flutes, just search amazon or similar. it's a common tool adapter for BMW and Harley. Get the thin cheap black steel version, still allows lots of clearance.

Perfect, thanks! Exactly the info I'm looking for.

Btw, my car is a DBS. I'll look for an adapter that fits. Any chance you'd happen to know the filter torque spec for a DBS/DB9? Everything I've seen just says "hand tighten."

Everything I've provided is for a sonnies V8V question..not a V12 DBS..

DBS has different everything, filter, plugs and torque spec. There's a V12 DBS/DB9/Rapide/ 13MY Vanquish filter adapter, but for over 15 years as an AM tech I couldn't figure out how to fit in place while the engine was still in the car. So I relied on a set of filter pliers I grinded down for clearance and good old visegrip-hand-wrist-torque. Being OCD this was a PITA to accept but didn't have any other choice beyond pulling the engine out to fit tool adapter to spec torque...pulling the engine might be a hard pill to swallow only to torque the oil filter

As for the V12 oil drain plug, I torqued all V12 VH platform: 23-27Nm

LOL..If you wanted to pull the engine and torque the oil filter: You could use the tool, but AM has yet to publish a torque spec... I wonder why..

(DB11 V12 has same filter, easy access, can use the V12 tool but still no spec). Although most of all canister filters max out at 20Nm, so theoretically you could just use the V8 filter spec of 15-18Nm.

If I want to check the filter for a double gasket, is it possible to do so by just unscrewing the filter and checking (I've already refilled the engine with new oil)? Aside from the mess, is there anything wrong with doing it that way?

Thank you, I've already started the car and circulated the oil.

First time changing my own oil, so I was already kind of nervous that I might mess something up. Then I made the mistake of looking up on YouTube what can happen if you double gasket an oil filter, lol.

Thank you. It doesn't look like a difficult process but it's still nice to see a video of it.
