So it says every where that the 4.7 came out for 08, but every 08 seems to be a 4.3? when did the change happen? Was it a mid year thing or just 09 and up? Thanx guys

 

First 4.7 came out in 2009.

AM started building the Vantage with the 4.7 engine approx mid 2008 but it is called a 2009 model in America. My 4.7 was built 07/08. Does anyone know if the model year is calculated differently in other parts of the world?

 

Model year around the world is from the VIN plate year..If you look at the VIN..8th from last digit is your year..so if it's a 2009 ..digit is a "9"

Build date is just for manufactures to know when the vehicle passed though the line..if there is a fault/concern about a build, they can track the build year down to the VIN's of concern

 

There were also a lot of run out 4.3's in 2009 and even 2010!

 

I've never seen a 2009+ 4.3L in North America..UK I cannot state upon

 

A UK shop upgrades older 4.3 engines to 4.7L displacement but the huge distance and water in between makes participation here almost impossible. There are other horsepower/torque opportunities, however. Would N.A. owners support a Southeast Michigan installation facility?

 

They actually rebuild the 4.3 in to the 4.7 GT4 engine
As well as adding their own headers and sport cats
It makes the 4.3 quicker than a V12V!
