Finally had a chance to run it out a bit
This past saturday I joined some of my Rennlist friends (I've owned a few Porsches before the Vantage S) on a drive from NY to Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. As the route there took us through some twisty roads with elevation changes I had the opportunity to see how the car really handled. I was very impressed with how uneventful things were sitting in the drivers seat. The car stayed flat through the tight turns and there was no indication I was even close to being on the edge of control. The balance was perfect. I'm still getting used to the Sportshift II, trying to find the best shift points, but it did extremely well. The car was so well planted that, for the first time, I started to get a little nauseous through the quick right and left-handed turns.
All in all it was a great day and the car received many compliments from others on the run. Someone did ask me if it was the new Ford Fusion, though
I made a short video of some of the run (before my GoPro ran out of juice). I apologize in advance for the quality of the video - this was my first time using the GoPro and I didn't have software to edit the raw footage, so I lost some quality in the conversion.
