Vantage S Stalled at Intersection Yesterday.
The Vantage S stalled on me yesterday as I was coming into an intersection. I was stopped on an incline and when I put my foot on the accelerator the car shut down and all the dash warning lights came on with a system fault message. Mind you, this is with the sportshift 2 - I didn't think it could stall out like that. It started right up again and I haven't had it happen again.
There is a software update for ASM2 to prevent clunky gears at low speed and improve down shifts.
ASM1 & ASM2 will automatically change down if the car thinks it is going to stall, obviously didn't work in this case
Do you let the car go through the auto clutch learn each time it starts?

It couldn't change down, I was in first gear and the car wasn't moving.
I do not do the clutch learn when I start it, only because I can't remember how to do it. A link would be helpful.

ASM1 is the original Sport Shift. ASM2 is the new 7 speed "Sport Shift II" that is on the S and is available on the base model for 2012.
I was under the impression that the ASM2 did the clutch learn automatically every time you start up and that there was nothing special you had to do. Also, isn't it supposed to have a "hill start mode" which is what should have come into play in this scenario?

Sounds a bit like a thread running over on AMOC. Might be worth a look on that forum too:

ASM1 is the 6 speed sport shift which needs manual clutch learns, has a high reverse gear and creep mode
ASM2 is the 7 speed sport shift on the S (option from MY12 on V8V) it does a clutch learn when you start it so long as you leave it to complete the cycle (N light flashes when it is doing it), it has no creep mode, a lower reverse gear and hill assist, works a lot better than ASM1
Hill start only comes in if the incline is sufficient and you hold the brakes on long enough (I've had to use the handbrake a few times on gentle slopes)
The OP has an S with ASM2
OP was the incline up or down?
If Up it could be linked to hill assist catching you out
