ASM3 is ASM2 with revised ratios, reinstatement of the oil cooler from ASM1 and minor tweaks to the ECU. Its not a quantum leap forward but an improvement. It retains the D "issue"
ATEOD it is a robotic manual with a clutch and not a "slush" box with torque converter

I used to lift slightly in my ASM1 car on up shifts, continued when I went to ASM2 but soon found there was no point, it also benefits from being left in Sport mode as well (other than round town)

The SP10 reverts to the manual box used from day 1 of the Vantage with the stupidly high reverse gear.

Stupidly high reverse gear haha ... So true. I wish they swapped reverse gear ratio with 1st gear

So the newer transmissions still have the same gearing for reverse? This another one of those issues I've never experienced. Then again, I haven't done a lot of uphill reversing.

Only the manuals ASM2 reverse is closer to first
