Ok...time for extra protection...

Can anyone provide any info on the K40 and 9500ci systems? I've done a Google search, but wanted to get feedback from actual users in our cars.

Yes, it happened yesterday. (Lidar) You know, I have not been heavy on the pedal with this car. Hell, I drove my XKR faster most of the time. Yesterday, I was just going *around* someone (for about 25 seconds of spirited acceleration). And as I was slowing back down, I was approached from the rear...

I am concerned about whether this will affect my insurance rates which are already high. FU thing about the Atlanta area interstates is the base limit of 55MPH...99% of the souls on the road are exceeding 55MPH (by probably 10MPH or more). But if you are cited, it is from the ridiculous 55MPH limit. I suppose this same issue exists in other cities.

Appreciate any info provided!

Get a lawyer and fight the ticket. I get 1-2 a year and pay a local lawyer to knock them down to no points, court fees only. I must have been cited 15+ times over the past ten years but nothing has ever hit my record.

Also, my vantage came with a 9500ci and it is pretty good but on my daily driver (M3) I installed a regular passport 9500 and the laser interceptor jammer. According to the research I have done, it is the most effective laser jammer out there.

I have Valentine1's on an M3 and Mini Cooper. While the V1 was always solid it only detects radar & lidar.

When I got my Virage last year, I decided I wanted a cleaner look and more active protection so I opted for the 9500ci. You can have the radar and front laser shifters mounted behind the grill and the rear shifter can either go above your license plate or in the gap in the rear diffuser. Escort recently upgraded the the laser shifters to the laser shifter pro as well (I'm planning to upgrade to these).

The nice part is how discreet the installation is (and yes, you want this done by a professional installer). There is nothing hanging from the windshield. I do miss the arrows of the V1 (just got really used to seeing them), I appreciate the GPS functions of the 9500ci and those extra secs to brake when hit by lidar.

Hope this helps,

Escort Redline & mobile app for radar detection.
I've also done the research and laser interceptor does seem to be the best laser protection. Unfortunately illegal in CA.

The dealership I got the car from sells and installs the 9500ci, and I am working with them to get a price break from their regular price of $2195 installed.

I will inquire as to the upgrade to the PRO laser shifters.

The 9500ci comes with the PRO shifters now. If they are telling you that you will need to upgrade to the PRO's, then they are selling you old inventory. Also, you can't run the regular and PRO's together (per Escort) - check out http://escortradarforum.com for more info.

Ok...I wasn't sure if the systems came with he Pro shifters...thought it may be an upgrade at time of purchase. Thanks for letting me know. I will be sure to verify this when they put the system in.

I did hire an attorney. He seems to think my chances are good at getting it knocked down so that it will not e reported to insurance.

I'm jut gonna get the 9500ci system; the cops around here go ape**** if they see anything that resembles a radar detector.

Also thought about getting a trunk monkey to deal with the cop...

Interesting video...

So it must pi$$ a cop off quite a bit when a car gets that close and they still cannot lock on with the Lidar.

A pretty obvious conclusion they would make is that the car has some type of Lidar "protection".

But, there would be nothing they could do...

RSC: out of curiosity, have you looked into the GA laws regarding detectors/jammers? Might be an upgrade I should look into also… JR

They are legal in GA as far as I know...I just hired an attorney...I may see if I can get an hour of his time for official research.

So your website lists the AL Priority as a parking sensor and anti-laser??

Does this integrate with a hidden installed radar detector and control unit?

I'd like a complete system...the website says a 5 sensor system is recommended for a large vehicle front and back?

And is there someone in the Atlanta area that can install it?

What kind of price would I be looking at with a complete Radar/AL Priority system with complete LIDAR coverage?

So, what would I miss in not getting the rear view mirror done with the system install?

The price (from Cartunes) for a 5 unit system with the Bel STi-R and mirror install is $3800...pretty pricey. That's $1600 more than the Escort system.

So the Laser Interceptor does not recognize the Dragon eye?

What about a 4 sensor system as opposed to 5? How much effeciveness would be lost with 2 laser sensors front/ back as opposed to 3 front/2 back?

Without the mirror and 2 front/2 back drops the price to $3000.
