Coolant level sensor

Hello,

Recentlu I have bought a 2007 vantage roadster? I've been reading you for a long time while I was waiting for my car.

I have a flashing warning light of low coolant level and I have read that is a "normal" light on this cars.

I want to change the sensor but can't find the part number. I think is this one 1R12-37-10166 but want to be sure.

Do you know if there is any Volvo jar etc compatible sensor???

Thanks and best regards

Carlos

Maybe the coolant is a little low. So add between 1-cup to 2-cups of Distilled Water to the coolant reservoir and see if the light goes out. Don't worry about the very slight dilution of the coolant--it's insignificant.

Hey guys does anyone know an alternative part for the Coolant Level Sensor? AM part 1R12-37-10166.

Jaguar Part LNA5740AB looks identical. Can anyone confirm this??

Usual fault is in the reservoir itself. For that price it's worth trying. Have you checked the wiring and connection? I would try disconnecting it first and see if the warning changes.

Search this forum for coolant sensor, temp, fault as I see multiple threads on this and alternate part numbers

I've already done this otherwise I wouldn't and couldn't have resurrected a 2014 thread. Also you haven't bothered reading the thread before searching the forum and writing an unhelpful response - level sensor, not temp.

Thanks for the suggestion - have had a look and everything looks in order. There's a few other threads about this warning light coming on and I'm pretty sure I just need to replace the coolant Level sensor - will update when fixed! Warning only comes on temporarily under hard acceleration.

Wow what a dik. I said to search for all three as the part numbers for all of those sensors, including level if you are too lazy, are in multiple posts. No wonder why you don’t have this fixed.

My response was quite polite considering how rude and unhelpful you are. You're straight up incorrect. The alt part number for the coolant level sensor hasn't been listed yet. That's why I'm trying to confirm this in hopes of benefitting the community with some new info.

I believe I am having a slight leak at the tank and/or a faulty sensor.
I could feel some fluid under the tank when shoving my hand...
So I am looking at replacing both the tank and sensor.
Do we know of a Jaguar / Ford equivalent for the expansion tank 4G43-19B518-BD?
Thanks in advance!

Last time I bought that tank it came with a sensor already installed as part of the tank price. Check that's still the case if you're ordering a new one.

I'm ordering a sensor alone to replace, and will check if it fixes the issue and the slight leak.
Plan B is to replace the expansion tank at the whole.
Thanks for the help.

That's a five dollar sensor at O'Reilly's. I just got one for my wife's Range Rover Sport and it's the same part number provided for Land Rover. Rock Auto has them for 12 bucks or so as well.

Just completed the job this morning, pretty straightforward.
Now going to take the car for a spin and see if I still get that low coolant level message...
Thanks!
