dash panels

Hello,
Just purchased a used 2008 vantage after my 2013 Porsche C2S came off of lease.

Quick question - mine does not have nav, however I am thinking of upgrading the audio and adding an aftermarket bluetooth device with Ipod integration. Thinking of getting a new upper center console panel with the nav door and have it installed there.

Best place to purchase one? (other than dealer). or does anyone know of a dismantler where I could get a used one?

I am a huge porsche guy so I know where to go for that make of car. New to the Astons

Thanks
Mark

thanks

I found a replacement one from ebay. It has different names: ski slope, navigation surround, console, etc.

After I installed my ipod/bluetooth adapter, I paid more attention to the imperfections in the panel, so my OCD won and I bought a replacement.

There's a place that refinishes them also: madera concepts . Do a search to find it.

2cts... the 'factory' nav IMO would not be worth adding in. Disc based and not Garmin quality.

The pop up location is also a long reach to type on if you plan an aftermarket touch screen. It has been done on here and does look nice.

I'd consider an Escort Smartmirror.... and keep the smooth skislope. The mirror is buried under the headliner, so check if you need full sky line of sight..

Or if it doesn't bother you, just carefully hardwire a small/sleek Garmin to be next to the rear view mirror. Light years ahead of the factory nav.

The factory nav in my Vantage is Garmin and it's actually pretty nice. About the only fault is that it's not a touch screen. But it would be a long reach and I would risk scratching the waterfall fascia if it was.

If there is a Garmin 'retro' fit for the older disc system... that would be interesting to get a pricing on.. Post if you figure it out!

^^^^ That is exactly what I was intending to do with my 07MY but I was going to use an iPad mini as the touchscreen. However, I sold the car before I got to that project.

Wow, that looks super slick! I've never seen that before - I'd love to have something like that in mine.
