PNW is infamous around these parts
How hard is it to install the x-pipe? Is it as simple as unbolting the original section of exhaust, and bolting the new x-pipe section in place? Or is there welding involved? I have an 08 DB9.

It's very easy. The hardest part is getting the car in the air to access everything. After that everything unbolts and no welding or any fabrication work required.

Search for a DIY or google 6speed and x pipe and find the thread. There are many pictures that people have taken that show what it looks like, however just looking at the pipe itself from the manufacturers can likely tell you a lot of how it is installed. I would help, but don't have the links, I would have to search myself.

It's a pretty easy bolt-in, bolt out.

Thanks - that's what I figured from the pictures but didn't know for sure. I searched for an install thread dedicated just for an x-pipe but only found threads talking about changing out a bunch of the exhaust system,or just talking about the change in exhaust note. Thanks again for the info.

PNW I posted a detailed thread on changing out the cats which is essentially the same thing (work). It was easy and I did it on my lift.

Was thinking of decats on my Rapide. Local AM service manager thinks it will be too much and not fitting to the car. I am love with the remote exhaust flap control, so maybe just leave it at that?

The secondary deletes is a great way to go, for a less expensive option for a nice bump in sound. And yes, you can retain the valve control. In 10 years I don't think anyone has ever found the secondary deletes alone, to be 'too much.'

You know I had bought the decats from you on my Vantage and liked it. Between the sound the easier revving, I do it on most cars I have owned. If it doesn't f up getting it inspected; why not? I was just going on what the service manager said at the dealership.

If you liked it on your Vantage, you're going to like it on your Rapide. The level of sound increase is similar. Guys at the dealerships don't always like aftermarket stuff, but then, it's not their car!

Drop me an email if you want to order some, I think we have them in stock, can get a set out to you pretty quick.

PNW, I changed the cats on mine for VelocityAP 100 cells (and tune: epic). I did this with one side of the car jacked up and on axle stands. It took a little bit of wiggling, but was pretty straight forward. This link has some install pics and a couple of sound comparison vids. Mine is an S model. If you want to hear mine in person let me know.
