08 v8v questions

I test drove one and have a couple questions.

1) When in Drive, the car hesitates off the line, there is a second or two hesitation before it starts revving, then about 1,500 rpms it seems to have a slight miss and then revs fine the rest of the way to redline.
Is this normal?
When in sports mode this does not seem to happen.

2) Drivers and passenger side windows will not move, any idea why?

3) Drivers side mirror will not stay in position at speed, it starts coming in towards the door at speed, so does the mirror need to be replaced or is there a fix?

4) Nearest AM dealer is 3 hours away, so I am going to have an indy mechanic look at it, I trust him, he has done work on my jag. So is there anything special I should have him look at?

TIA

The sport shift when in drive is worthless you have to learn how to use the paddles manually and it doesn't have a problem. Between shifts lift up on the gas industry enjoyable to ride otherwise never put it in drive

My driver side window stopped working. I had to remove the door panel and unplug the window module and plug it back in. There were three plugs. I only removed the two on the sides and did not unplug the bottom one. Once I plugged it back in the window worked fine.

Also I had to do the window reset procedure to get the windows to roll up and down when opening and closing the door.

I was using the drive and was behind a car at a stop sign. They moved a little and so did I. I pressed on the brakes and to my surprise the car kept accelerating. I had to shove as hard as I could on the brake pedal to not hit the car in front of me and the clutch seem to finally engage.

Glad I give extra room for the cars around me.

I would not buy an early sport shift, and would definitely not buy a used Vantage without having a dealer look it over first. If the dealer is too far for you to go to that may be a problem once you own the car. Buying from an Aston Martin dealer is a little more expensive in the purchase but better in the long run if the car has been checked over and has the preowned warranty.

There are others out there. Electrical gremlins can be easy fixes or nightmares. If you aren't comfortable diving into these issues, it could cost you thousands.

Is the rest of the car in good condition? Does the owner have records? Has he tried t fix these issues in the past? Mileage? If the dealer is 3 hours away, how has he been maintaining it?

I have no problems working on a car, I am restoring a 70's charger now and the car has almost 26k miles and no service record.

Do you think a Jaguar dealer could do a PPI?

FWIW I had a local Jaguar dealer do my brakepads and they did an excellent job.. An Aston dealer is where you'd want to get a 100% covered PPI, but a Jaguar dealer could probably be 90% of the way there.
