Door (side) mirrors

I hope everyone is having a great holiday..

I have been searching and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.. I'd like to update some of the exterior bits of my 05' DB9 to parts from later model cars.

Are the door mirrors from the 2011 DB9's basically plug and play on the early cars? Mine are power folding BTW.

Also the rocker panel covers from the 2011 DB9 look like they should be a direct replacement as well..? Anyone know for sure?

Thanks in advance for the help..

Don't know about mirrors but look at Pistonheads user Speculatore for new sills on an old DB9: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...38455#30860767

Why would you upgrade the earlier version for the later? From memory and due to legislation the later mirrors became far bigger then the earlier models, making them uglier imho.

I'm still keen to get my hands on a set of OEM Volvo carbon mirror shells which fellow member midwestamv8 got his hands on: http://imgur.com/a/qHvyJ and https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ook-great.html

OT: I believe it's not as straight forward: the rocker-panel/foot mount of the later version is different from a mounting perspective. Check here the earlier model http://astonmartinbits.com/models/4-DB9/parts/2609 and here the later version http://astonmartinbits.com/models/4-DB9/parts/2610 (pictures below)

Thanks for the reply. I really like the look of the newer version. I saw the information on bits also, and they talk about it being possible to update but don't really get into specifics about other parts needed. My car has the original early mirror (no screws on inside trim). However, it seems like some of these were not power folding? I'm wondering if that's where the problem is with the retrofit.

Bits also sells the new rocker sill covers and they say those are a direct replacement also.. But I wanted to confirm this before jumping in. Seems too easy..

I bought the new sills from bits and have yet to start trial fitting them. Will surely make a thread on that project.

no, they're the Virage/new DB9 sills. I photoshopped them in the picture. Check here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/aston-martin/342358-new-member-2004-db9-caspian-blue-w-cream-truffle-leather-3.html#post4407454

Very cool.. Are those a direct bolt on? I am just getting ready to order the 2010.5 style sill covers but I like these much better!
