V8V cat bypass Xpipe

I just finished installing a prototype secondary car bypass X-pipe that was made for me by Fabspeed. They had developed one for the DB9 but it did not have one for the V8V. I was able to send them My secondary cats welded together and they came up with this work of art. The installation took about 30 min the fit was perfect and the sound is glorious. I will be getting a post install dyno run on Monday and will post pre and post numbers as well as sound clips from each pull. This is a great addition to the available mods for the 2011+ V8 cars that do not have any sensors on the secondary cats.
I believe they will be offering these for sale in the near future.

Nice setup there. Probably be my first mod too, once beta testing is all done.

Do you know off hand what is the weight saving?

Did you notice any significant gas fume/smell?

Most of all, thanks for sharing.

I forgot to weigh the previous cats but I just checked the fedex reports and the shipping weight of the 2 cats was 27# and the weight on the pipe was 7# so allowing for at most 1# of steel stock bracing the cats together we are looking at a 19# saving.
No noticeable change in the smell of the exhaust that I can tell.

It's a 2012 but if I'm not mistaken this will work on any 2011+ V8'V with out any tuning or Check engine light triggering.

Awesome! I am glad my vision of the perfect X-pipe is finally coming to fruition. This really is THE perfect setup (X-pipe cat bypass). It should produce very strong gains.

Would love to hear a video of the X-Cat bypass

And it is your vision. A few months back you pointed me towards the Fabspeed V12 setup which got me talking with them on how to get one for a V8 car. Thanks!

Absolutely. I will be going back to the same dyno today. The ambient temp is pretty much the same today and I'm still even on the same tank of gas for a post run and also to get a sound clip during the pull.

Tried doing this setup 2 years ago but there was nothing on the market at the time and the custom route was prohibitively expensive at the time.

This setup also eliminates the need to touch the midpipes as well so it's an all-in-one solution. That's why I believe it is the perfect exhaust mod for the V8V. It's the only most you need to do.

Just make sure to do before & after dynos.

Though I only picked up 14 peak hp and 19 lb/ft peak torque there were parts on the graph that had a spread of 25 hp and 30 tq. I think the conservative tune of the standard v8 combined with some airflow issues along with the ambient temp being 20degrees higher limited the numbers.
I will post some sound clips as soon as I figure out how to block my plate on the videos.

How does the sound quality compare? Note and perceived decibel difference.
