Very cheap price, but I'd be curious as to why the API rating haven't been updated since SL, which has been superseded twice. SM replaced SL, and SN replaced SM. Each is more stringent than the one before. If that oil doesn't rate SN, it's a lower quality than everything else on the market. Flip side is they may have never tested it for SM or SN ratings, but that seems like an odd thing to not do.

 

I asked. SL is supposedly suitable for cars built up to MY 2004. I won't put that into my car.

 

You can get 12 quarts of Castrol 10W-60 for $120 from Amazon.

Or, BMW 10W-60 is good and only a little more expensive if you need it right away and have a BMW dealer nearby.

Heads up, here in Denver the BMW oil is now switching over to Penzoil...
