The renderings don't match the lines in the doors of the proto at all. I suspect it will look much more like the DB11 than the drawings in that article.

 

Im not sold on the 5 bar grill or it being black , make it 7 bars and finished like the 07 etc .
But heres the kicker for me ......only two pedals
To be a real drivers car it has to be stick shift .

 

I'm fine with no stick, provided there is a DSG. I can't handle a normal slush box!

 

Andy Palmer has stated a number of times that Aston will continue to offer a manual transmission. So I'm expecting it to be offered in the next gen Vantage. I'm surprised they said a ZF auto, since the AMG GT this shares so much with has a dual clutch.

 

If Aston insists on sticking one of those god-awful iPad displays on the top of the center stack like many models (read DB11) are doing these days, I won't be buying one. Have all interior designers lost their collective minds with these lately?

 

I hate, hate, hate touch controls. In 10 years I hope the iPad haptic nonsense is going to be looked at like we look at the horrible digital dashboards from Nissan and GM from the 80s or those irritating motorized seat belts from the 90s, another bad idea that ended in the death it deserves. If anyone who designs cars is reading this, *****!

@Mathman: I disagree, have you driven the F-Type? Plese do not compare it with a Vantage there are Galaxies in between, steering feel for example just to name one.

 

It will be most interesting to see what prices happen to do with current Vantage models after this new one comes out. Normally, they drop. However, the new bolder crisp edged body lines and the AMG attachment, might possibly make the current models keep value. Either way will be most interesting to me. 06-09 model prices are about so low, that it will be hard for me to justify NOT buying one for DD or a mate to the DB9. But we will see.

I'll be honest, I'm just not liking the new styling of the DB11. I love what they did with the DBS, then the new DB9, and the completely beautiful Vanquish.

It's obvious they're trying to move the brand forward, but hopefully it brings new buyers / new updates because if the Vantage goes toward the DB11 styling, egh...

 

The top pic and the black colored car beneath are different cars, even with the cammo you scan see that. The Silver one would be one I hope is correct.
