thanks for that info. well i guess that answers it.

it'll be good if there's anyone in the local area who already has the VAP kit installed that can demo so prospective buyers can see just what kind of clutch clacking noise to expect out of the ASM or Manual. otherwise it just feels like an expensive lottery rolling the dice.

Hi Howzz1854...I am not sure you know but the factory 09 ASM were a better clutch system then prior years. Look it up in Grants book...lighter flywheel etc...

I am not sure why changing yet? Slipping I guess...I drove to Florida twice so far and have 38000 on original clutch no slipping.

I do not baby the car most times. My son helped drive with me to Tech Day - Redpants. He is crazier...lol

Personally if not slipping or problems...drive and enjoy..try never to use comfort and D in heavy traffic but even then I use the paddles.

Few tips for driving ASM...you should have newer solfware when starting...fob area dims when clutch is learned

NEVER drive car till it comes off high idle...keep in 3-4 thousand range till temperature is at operating area.

I give car even after reaching operating temperature a few minutes more so transaxle etc is up to operation use....

Good luck and congratulations on your car...safe driving

yeah, that's pretty much what i do. but call me conservative, but i just like to plan things out for when the eventual happens, which you never know when with these cars. i just would like to have a path of solution planned before i reach the end of the road that is all.

if anyone else is in the LA area and have the VAP clutch installed, i would love to hear the clacking sound to see what that is like.

Anyone with a 2015+ V12S install this kit? I am curious how SS3 on the V12S will react to the much lighter flywheel setup. If that could alleviate most of the issues with SS3 jerkiness it would make for the perfect Vantage

This is the same clutch and slave cylinder as the stock V12VS setup. The only difference is the flywheel, which is mildly lighter, and obviously set up to bolt up to the V8 instead of the V12 on the back side.

Velocity AP Twin Plate Clutch is awesome

I just had my 2013 Vantage V8S ASM upgraded to the twin plate clutch pack from Velocity AP.
All I can say is that the car drives so much better.
I had the car taken to Aston Martin service due to chatter noise. The service manager said it was due to lighter flywheel.
He stated that it runs like Vantage AMR Pro with my setup.
Now, I’m considering ECU tune.
One unexpected thing was that misfire factor correction had to be done at the Aston Martin Dealer.
Chris at Velocity AP informed me that 2010 and up models do not have battery reset, therefore, the misfire factor correction has to be done with Aston Martin shop tool.

Is this the clutch chatter noise described in this topic?

I have this same noise, which goes away when I press the clutch pedal.

Yes, this is transaxle rattle. It's the gearbox making noise, usually worse when it gets hot. We do have some software alterations that we can make with our ECU tuning, to the engine idle settings which will improve this.

Thank you for your fast reply.

Then, as I have your ECU tune, I will surely order a software update. I understand that it is not bad, therefore it makes sense to wait until I get your 200-cell cats, right?

There's no charge from us to update the tuning file, if you're adding any of our parts. Including the clutch. Yes, it might make sense to add the 200 cell cats at the same time, so you don't have to update twice.

The answer is no, it's not clutch chatter, but Stuart is correct in that it is the Graziano. Clutch chatter happens while moving at low rpm, low speed and it comes from the back of the engine, not the rear of the car.

Thanks for the information. However I have faced several issues with two plate clutch. During my training with EduHelpHub although I have gained a detailed knowledge regarding the two plate clutch issue, but in this current case it was difficult for me to rectify the issue.
