Service Nightmare Scenario - New Aston owner lookking for help!
Hi guys and gals!
I am the very proud owner of my first Aston Martin - a 2010 Vantage V8.
I wanted to draw on the collective knowledge of the board to see how to deal with some early issues I have experienced.
1. A few days after picking up the car, the emmissions light came on and I took it in for service and ended up changing the Purge Valve.
2. A few days after that while driving, the dash lit up like a Christmas Tree - ABS sensor, E Brake sensor, Traction Control Sensors, and a Red Triangle symbol all lit up. I took it back in, described what happened, and we end up doing two things -- replacing ABS sensor and going ahead and doing the annual maintenance. The last annual maintenance was Jan 2017 so we were a bit early.
3. After picking it up, I didnt even get 100 yards from the dealership before the emmissions light lit up again. I turned around and went right back in and was told that it may be the Purge Valve.
THE PURGE VALVE??!
Its in the shop now and they are trying to figure it out.
I am servicing currently at the only Aston dealer in Houston, and it seems like they are just 'spit-balling' and not really addressing the root cause.
Any help / ideas / referrals for other options in the Houston area would be appreciated.

Good call, and something that's not just wasted money if it isn't. You're probably still on your original battery so at 7+ years it owes you nothing and is due for replacement anyway.

Who did you order from? Sounds like the dealer.........
Order a Battery from REDPANTS or just buy the appropriate type and install yourself. REDPANTS has a video for DIY for a Vantage.
I would take that car out of the dealers hands asap. They already wasted your money on things most likely NOT needed at all. Why give them more.
Welcome to the forum. Aren't forums great!!! You had an issue with your car that a Aston Martin dealer couldn't help you with. But you join a forum, ask a question, and poof----your question and issue is answered within hours. So many helpful people on here. Hopefully you will be an addition to the members here and be able to help others in the future.

Annual Service----- I am willing to bet the AM battery is probably something like $300 or so. Ridiculous of course. But, to add that to the $900-1300 Annual Service costs, even at a one time per 3yrs would probably cause more headaches with customers than not having it in there.
Most people, even forum members would decline any type of battery cost from a dealer if they ever mentioned it. Its not until you have a battery failure or electronical issues that it is even brought up. However, in these cases its the first thing an owner should replace to solve a problem. Especially if a vehicle has sat on a dealers lot or showroom for over a month or two.
