2014-16 Vanquish depreciation curve
2014-16 Vanquish depreciation curve
I really enjoy my V8 Vantage. I don’t drive it daily because of the manual transmission (Miami traffic) and the lack of ventilated seats (swamp ***). I’m considering a swap into a Vanquish which I would drive daily. I see 03-06 Vanquish prices are somewhat leveled at the $60-100k mark. The delta between 14 and 15 cars is around $30k. Some of that spread may stay because of the 6 speed to 8 speed transmission change.
My question is what price do you think these cars level off at in the next 5 years?
old DB7 and DB9 cars are trading in the $30s - I don’t see the Vanquish getting there given how the older Vanquishes have held up.

Vanquish S is high on my list for the next Aston as well. DB9 GT would be in the running as well.
Is the 8 speed as fun to drive in manual mode as the 6 speed? I hate driving the 8 speed in my wife's XE in manual mode. Too many gears.

I tested a 15 yesterday. Not a chance to really get to know the car - but it was certainly a special vehicle. I plan to see a 14 next week to determine if the difference is meaningful to me.

Now they're down to 124k. That's a big drop for a single year.
Not everyone is as in love with the Vanquish design as they are the DB9's, especially the later iterations. I love them all. I don't want to test drive any the Vanquish as I don't want to know there is greener grass.
What about a sportshift Vantage - I had a 2007 6-speed in Minneapolis traffic - not fun. Next Vantage was a Sportshift (2009), would not go back to a manual. Enough involvement (modulating the gas and shifting manually) to be entertaining. I had a 2015 GT with Sportshift (better) and a V12S with Sportshift (even better).
I don't know what it is with everybody and complaining about 6M's in traffic. If it's a slow roll idle in first, if it's stop and stop just pop it into neutral until it's time to go. The only traffic I've ever been in worse than mine is LA and NYC, and mine is comparable. But I've driven sticks exclusively for so long I just accept it as normal. At the least consider it a bit of exercise

It's the reason why depreciation on cars exist- everyone is a cheap *******. ;-)
I'm ok with that, knowing that it'll go down after I buy it. Just need to calculate it as your usage cost.
While the new Vantage doesn't seem to be making a big dent in the existing Vantage market; the new DBS SL sure seems to be pushing down prices on the former halo-car... Just last year I was looking (admitedly, via just window shopping) at prices on Vanquishes and there wasn't a decent one found less than 150k.

When those $250,000 Bentley's are selling for $50,000 at BJ it's the same story. Not enough buying demand for a car out of warranty with perceived high costs of repair and ownership, and in alot of cases it's not just perceived. It's high cost.
That's why Porsche is pushing up the MSRP of all their cars, cause in the end- they don't get paid twice if someone picks up a used 911.
