Disconnecting sat nav

I find the sat nav system pointless in my dbs, if I need to get somewhere I use my phone, and personally not interested in any fancy retrofits to make the system more modern from various vendors.
I don’t like the cutout in the waterfall for the sat nav. I’d like to replace the waterfall with a non-sat nav version.
Does anyone know how to disconnect the sat nav and what issues if any this will cause (other than the navigation button being rendered pointless)? I’m assuming there’s a wiring connection that can be unclipped and hoping that’s all that would be required? Thanks.

That's all there is to it, remove the panel disconnect the unit and fit a new to you panel. Everything else will work just fine as there is no MOST network connection to the screen mechanism.

I'd be curious how much weight you save if you do this. Will you take out the DVD player as well?

I don’t plan on removing anything just unplugging the sat nav....

Ah, I assumed you meant removing the LCD sat nav screen in the process, in which case you might as well remove the DVD player too. I never use mine either. I'm curious to hear how much you spend to replace the waterfall.
