On a lark, I participated in the Camden Maine British and Foreign Car show. I participated in the modern sports car class. This was the first year that they had a modern (newer than 1990) class. There were 3 Astons present - a 2009 Vantage V8; a 2001 DB7 Coupe, and my DB9 Volante. In the class with me there was a beautiful 2010 Maserati GT Spyder (with as real back seat), as well as several Porsche and Jaguars. When they announced the winner of the modern car class - I won first place. I was thrilled, especially since I had only had the car for about 10 days.
The car show was really excellent - 47 cars, with 2 Bugatti's (1932 and 1929) that drove to the show. Lots of Jaguars, with a a Lotus Elan; 2 Lotus Super Sevens, and a 250 Daimler. The smattering of older MG and TR4 were also present. There was also a couple of Humbler (spelling) saloons. DB7; My DB9 and a a Vantage V8
From the other side of the country; V-8 MT. Do you enjoy the color changes throughout the day?
That's a beautiful car. The car is Titanium Silver, and it does change colors as the sun catches it differently. The leaves haven't turned yet, but will probably start in a month or so. The trees will turn as red/orange as your car - or brilliant yellows. I love Spring, Summer and Autumn - it is winter I can't stand.
While I was driving it up to Maine for vacation, it still had transit plates on the car. As we were stuck in traffic on I-84 outside of Hartford, a Mercedes driver rolled down his window and yelled "Congratulations". Lots of people coming up to the car and giving compliments. The only other car I had people do that with, was my 2002 black T-bird, which I sold to buy my DB9. Interestingly, the wheelbase is absolutely identical to the T-Bird, and a mechanic who also owns a T-Bird was looking under the car out of curiosity indicated that the frame of the DB9 is very similar to that of the T-Bird. There a lot of common parts to the T-Bird and DB9 - not surprising as they came from the Ford Global Supply Chain. However, the DB9 is much better put together and sounds wonderful.
