DB9 Volante rear window separation
DB9 Volante rear window separation
About six months ago, I noticed a small crease in the canopy at the center top of the rear window of my 2009 DB9. After reading some of the threads here and other places, I figured I needed to get it addressed, but after a scheduled road trip up the CA coast. Near the end of the trip, about 100mi from home, I put the top back up and noticed that about 2/3 of the rear window was now separated from the canopy. I carefully put the top down and nervously finished the trip.
I called three upholstery places and one Aston shop in San Diego county, and none would touch it. All said to take it to the dealer, where I anticipated that they would only replace the canopy at big $$ based on the cost of the top alone.
I reluctantly took the car down to the local dealer in San Diego and braced myself. The service manager took a look at the condition of the top and commented on how good of a shape it was in. I asked if they could reattach the window, and he said that either they will do it, or they will find someone who can. I left the car with them and told them to take as much time as they need to do it right.
After a few days, they contacted me and said that the AM recommended process of reattaching the window would not work, but they brought in their outside specialist who works on tops, and he was confident that he could do it, and that it would last.
I picked up the car today, and the window was reattached with a high quality job at a very reasonable price compared to replacing the top. Very happy with the result and breathing a sigh of relief.
Now on to doing wheels and tires......

I am also having the exact same problem with my 2008 Volante. I would appreciate any information (method, price, etc.) that you can share. (I REALLY do not want to replace the whole roof). Please feel free to PM me.
