Impression of my v12vs ( first run )

This morning I got to do a proper break in run and some spirited driving in my brand new V12VS. I do feel it was lucky that I was able to find a brand new one which I purchased at a bargain .
I dont even know what the car is like in auto mode as I have never pushed the D button. For me, putting the car in Sport mode and shifting manually works very well. While it is not near the transmission that a PDK is, it is engaging as you have to pay attention to your upshifts.
The car likes to be driven aggresively and then the transmission is just fine. Upshifts are good and downshifts are even better. We were on a lot of roads that only required rowing between 3rd and 4th today . This motor just pulls and pulls and the car is deceptively fast. I am used to 911's with their massive rear tire grip coming out of corners. This car can accelerate out of a corner quite well and when that big motor is in the meat of the power it is impressive how fast it really is.
I was able to log a couple hundred miles this morning and really started to get the feel of the car in the twisties. Looking forward to some more bonding with this one.
Really happy to have one of the v12's in my stable as it seem very unlikely this type of engine will ever be made again.

great to hear the first run went well - takes a while to get the feel of the weight up front but they have prodigious torque (as you know) and trail braking, turn in, then smooth power delivery can make for some veRy fast driving

enjoy

I was also fortunate enough to find a new 2017, I think these are the very last of a generation - no turbo's very responsive, and just wonderful cars. Check for condensation on the tail lights - if you see any get them replaces (I replaced both of mine), I also got wheel spacers to make the car a wee bit more aggressive. I also use Apple Car Play for the music... as soon as the screen pops up I hold the main button down a few seconds to make the screen lower. I also had a buzzing fixed (they had to replace the entire NAV pop-up display unit) - other than that, no problems in 5,000 miles.

I also just got a new (200 mile collector car) 2017 V12VS 7 speed dogleg manual to go with my 991.2 PDK-S GT3RS

Awesome car and a great analog contrast to the Porsche and my 458!

Picked it up at AM in Atlanta and hit the Tail of the Dragon, Moonshiner 28, Cherohala Skyway on the drive home

I love Tail of the Dragon and Moonshiner 28. I often have to drive from Walhalla SC to Knoxville for customers. I have not done it in my DB9 Z (yet), but I did it in my Cadillac Sport Wagon. Dont laugh - it did very well.

Lovely collection of colors and cars... feeling envious as I only have 2013
V8S and a 348 TS.

Your car looks stunning in blue,, congradulations on that purchase. Your stable is exactly what I am going for. I have the Porche GT car, now I just need the mid engine V8 F car to complete it.
I had found a used V12VS

at our local dealer and spent a Saturday morning driving it. I left to go home and contemplate the purchase. When I returned the car had actually sold. The manager then tells me that he has a new 2017 that he wants out of his inventory and offers it up at almost a used car price point. This was a no brainer and I plan to keep this one in the stable for a long time. I always wanted a V12V but never had the chance to actually drive one. To anyone even thinking about one of these cars, all I can say is go drive one, you will fall in love with the power delivery of these motors. Seamless, smooth power is on tap from idle to redline and the sound is just amazing !
