Alarm goes off at random - 09 V8V coupe

On two separate occasions I've locked the car while in the garage and the alarm went off all by itself some time later. It happened again a week ago in the parking lot of a store while I was shopping. I have already replaced the batteries in my remotes, and the car gives me no error messages about it apart from the notification that the alarm had activated while it was locked.

The car's battery is fine, and the remotes are fine... is this an issue with the alarm module? Maybe an overactive sensor?

I had to replace the alarm module on my 09 Vantage. Surprise it is a Ford part.

Were you having the same issue? Happen to remember the part number?

I plan to take the car for a clutch replacement as soon as I get the parts I ordered from Velocity AP, so while it's in the shop I might ask them to use the scan tool and tell me what triggered the alarm.

Until then I suppose I can use the reduced guard button every time I get out and lock the car... assuming it's being set off by a door latch or the interior motion sensor.

Side note: anyone know how to disable the motion sensor from the dash menus? I heard it's possible.

I don’t remember the part number it was several years ago. Mine would go off at 3:00 in the morning. It was very frustrating. It even went off when the module was removed. It was enough to drive me crazy. But when I sold the Vantage I missed it and had to buy another one. I haven’t had any problems with my 08 Vantage.

Small update: The weather has been nice here the past few days so I've driven the Vantage a bit (side note: I can't wait for the Velocity AP twin plate clutch I ordered to get here. Really looking forward to the driving experience with a lighter flywheel and a friction plate that doesn't sound like gravel every time it's engaged from a stop). Anyway, I've been using the reduced guard button whenever I get out and lock the car, and the alarm hasn't gone off randomly at all, whether out around town or locked in the garage. This suggests that the problem is either the lock/unlock switch or the interior motion sensor. Probably the latter.

Going to have to wait for the scan tool to tell me if I'm correct. Hopefully it's something not too difficult to fix myself.

Thankfully, no. No evidence of rodents in the vehicle at all.

Mass movement sensor, you can disconnect it easily for testing to make sure that's it. Remove the cover in front of the mirror and unplug the unit.
