Hi All!
I have a 2009 4.7 V8 Vantage Sport Shift 1.
Im looking to tune, upgrade to 200 cell cats and air box delete.
has anyone here modified their 4.7?
If so how much power are you really getting?
what cars have you beaten in a rolling race for reference?
If you can really get above 460BHP at 1630KG the car should be pretty quick!
thanks!

I did exactly those 3 mods and the most noticeable thing is the sound rather than the power, however (its god damn incredible now, quiet when you want, and loud when you step on it) it feels a lot quicker in 1st gear and a bit less sluggish through the lower torque rpm bands, its not extremely noticeable in power as you're talking maaaybe 5-10% more at the crank on a good day. Your results may be different though as I'm at almost 5000 feet altitude which reduces performance pretty significantly. Definitely money well spent for the sound alone, and I installed them myself in my garage on a quickjack, I'm no mechanic but still managed just fine.

I don't race others on the street, an aston is just going to get embarrassed for the most part lol

my mods were tires and wheels and deleted muffler completely... great sound, a bit better throttle response... astons aren't the fastest but just a great driving platform

I did this to my 2015 Vantage V8S (Manual):

VelocityAP Equal-Length Headers
VelocityAP 200-Cell High-Flow Cats
VelocityAP ECU Tuning - Stage 2
VelocityAP Twin Plate Clutch & Lightweight Flywheel
RedPants Hi-Flow Air Filters (Dry)

The car is now a Beast.

No clue how fast, but so far I've had a sport bike, an M5 Competition (2014) and a Hell Cat all try to out run me. Needless to say, they could not.
I have no clue what my horse power is, and I really don't care. The proof is in how many different types of cars have tired to outrun me and failed.

My 2013 has a tune, secondary cats delete and x-pipe midsection. It's definitely faster. I used to own an E60 M5. It wasn't my cup of tea, but was much fast than my Vantage.

I'm thinking about headers & cats for my 2013 V8 , what brand did you go with? did you install yourself? did you had to drop subframe to do headers? are happy with results?

Velocity AP is the brand. My dealer did the install. The headers were done at the same time as the clutch, but the subframe was not removed. I'm very happy with the results.

Unless you are going around corners, in a straight line you cannot outrun a hellcat. Now you might be a more fearless driver. (Smile)

RIF. Now, nowhere did I say I outran a Hellcat, either in a straight line or otherwise.

The Hellcat tried to out run me, but he couldn't. This merely means that he tried to leave me but I kept up.

IMO unless your racing for money or pink slips, style is as important as getting their 'first...' Aston wins that 95/100
